Calvin Harris – 18 Months [Album Release]
Scottish DJ Calvin Harris, a singer, songwriter and a record producer is here with his third studio album “18 months” after releasing “Acceptable in the 80s” in 2009. The album was produced between 2010-2012, almost a period of 18 months and that’s where the title comes from. With 5 singles released over the period, the first one being the hit “Bounce” Feat. Kelis released in June 2011. Since then singles were released consistently topping the charts worldwide. “Feel so close”, “Let’s Go (Feat. Ne-yo)” and “We’ll Be Coming Back (With Example)” being number 2 in the UK and the latest single “Sweet Nothing (Feat. Florence Welch)” topping the UK Charts with number one place. The album is a mix of commercial tracks along with Calvin’s signature house tunes. The album also features the worldwide hit “We Found Love” (Feat. Rihanna) which needs no introduction. The non-single tracks in the album also virtues some interesting collaborations like Ellie Goulding (I Need Your Love), Tinie Tempah (Drinking From The Bottle), Dizzie Rascal (Here 2 China) & Nicky Romero (Iron). The album has received positive to mixed reviews but it’s definite that the album consists of some big time hits, radio anthems and floor fillers.

Essential Track of the album:
# Calvin Harris Feat. Rihanna – We Found Love
Being the chart-buster track of the year. Released in September 2011, since then this track is played everywhere from Radio to Clubs to Big Festivals. “We Found Love” has played a great part in Calvin’s rise as an artist and a producer. No doubt this is the most essential tune of “18 months”.
Top 5 #bangers from the album:
#5 Calvin Harris – I Need Your Love (Feat. Ellie Goulding)
Ellie Goulding known for her hit single “Lights” has been collaborating with a lot of EDM biggies recently including Skrillex, Zedd and now Calvin Harris. Her beautiful vocals blends perfectly with Calvin’s signature melodious sound. Has Potential to be a future single of the album.
#4 Calvin Harris – Bounce
Released as the first single of the album and feat. the vocals of Kelis has been the dance anthem across all festivals the whole year. Catchy melody and heavy bassline makes it a perfect dance track.
#3 Calvin Harris & Example – We’ll Be Coming Back (Michael Woods Remix)
This remix by Michael Woods is a Club friendly version of “We’ll Be Coming Back”. Included in the bonus edition of the album is definitely a banger in which Michael Woods’s perfectly use the original melody of the track to create that big room sound without hampering the vocals of Example.
#2 Calvin Harris – Feel So Close
Being the second single of the album released in August 2011 is a signature Calvin track. Giving his own vocals in it over the most profound melodies by him is a dance massive. Not to be missed out song.
#1 Calvin Harris – Sweet Nothing (Feat. Florence Welch)
Being the number one track in the UK charts and featuring the beautiful vocals of “Florence Welch” from the Florence + The Machine, this is a perfect choice for #1 banger of the album.
Also to look out :
# Calvin Harris & Nicky Romero – Iron
Released on Nicky Romero’s Protocol Recordings earlier, “Iron” consists of Calvin Harris sing-a-long vocals with Nicky’s electro and progressive sounds. The track topped the Beatport charts and you can grab it here.
