Day 1 of Sunburn Goa saw stellar performances from the likes of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Headhunterz, Dyro, Sam Feldt, Tube & Berger, Spinal Fusion, Paperqueen and more. It was indeed an impressive start of the festival. Then came day 2 with its madness, to take the attendees one place higher with its tropical vibes.

The mainstage was set to be headlined by the one and only Kygo! While Candice Redding opened with a warm up set, Goodluck provided some live action at the “Empire of The Sun” with their chilled sound. Homeboy Anish Sood took it to a higher place with an energetic set and soon Felix Jaehn took to the mainstage. The evening sets while sun is setting are the best to witness because you get to see the stage’s production gradually coming to life, a journey starting from minimal lights and visuals towards lasers piercing through the smoke and moving lights giving an out-of-the-world feeling. Felix Jaehn’s set was one of these awe worthy moments of the festival. Not to forget, the timely confetti blasts and smokes took the crowd by surprise every single time.

Clock soon hit the Kygo-time. Kygo made his presence felt with a stunning intro followed by “I See Fire”. The set went through many state of the art productions of Kygo and once again, mainstage sang “Lean On” at its loudest, only in increasing numbers than the previous day. Highlights of Kygo’s set were “Firestone” and “Stole The Show” with the crowd signing along. With a heart full of love for the Sunburn crowd, Kygo made way for the closing set by Dyro. Already having played at Revealed Stage on Day 1, Dyro had some bigger plans for mainstage (He was even joined by Martin Garrix on stage!). He went all-in with his dark and heavy electro sounds. The stage’s audio-visual production was at its best during his set. Dyro dropped many old school hip hop acapellas mixed with excellent peak time tracks. To take the Indian crowd by surprise, he dropped a Bollywood acapella and a Punjabi tune, too! A couple of IDs also followed. Towards the end, Dyro’s Bangin’ set took a bit of Trap turn and made people rage. Closing with the Skrillex remix of “Red Lips”, Dyro made sure to destroy the crowd with his set and boy have I not seen a crazier crowd! Dyro proved he’s not “Like a Boss”, he’s the Boss!

The Spinnin’ Sessions stage opened with our homeboys Progressive Brothers and Joshi’s heart- warming sets. Soon Lucas & Steve gave the crowd their Spinnin’ taste with piano and bass house music. Sam Feldt carried the spirit and energy on the Spinnin’ stage after he played on the Mainstage the previous day. Closing for the day, Bassjackers played a Bangin set with bass heavy bigroom tracks. The turn up at the stage was a step up from day 1 as it looked jam packed by end of the day. It was astonishing watching the crowd clapping and waving the hands from left to right, chanting “Heeyyy, ooooohh” every now and then.

The Techno/Deep House tent was curated by Social Experiment for the day 2. The lineup boasted of premier acts like Art Department, Maher Daniel, Jade, Blurry Slur, Arsh and Avantika Bakshi. The vibes at the Star Wars themed stage were breezy with long breakdowns and steady build-ups. With drinks in the hand, the attendees moved on the sounds of Techno and Deep House. From chill to high tempo, the Psy stage featured Southwild, Janux, Desert Dwellers, V Society and Avi D and the Never Hide Sounds stage curated by Bass Camp for the day saw killer sets from Su Real, Kumail, Profound and more, including a smashing closing set by Nucleya. The energy was at peak by the end of the night with Nucleya’s bass heavy set. Without a doubt, the crowd was sure to go mental!

We also happened to catch the Vinyl Ambulance with a DJ spinning vinyls near the hill climb of sunset point. Activity centre looked crowded with people having fun and F&B were having more variety than day 1. While the mainstage kept the vibes tropical till just before the closing set, all the stages were jam packed by the time closing acts started and the crowd was having the best time!

Day 2 was a huge step up in terms of number of people turning up and in terms of madness. We’re hopeful for Day 3 set to feature artists like Martin GarrixAly & Fila, Marlo, Nucleya and many more.

See you there!
