With just a week left for Afrojack’s India tour with Sunburn Arena to kick off, we bring you a lowdown on the supporting artists for the Dutch giant; Gregor Salto, Wiwek, Apster, Oliver Rosa, and Ravitez. Read on!
Gregor Salto
Haarlem- born Gregor Salto has an image of being a versatile producer. Tracks like ‘Mas Que Nada’, ‘Paris Luanda’ and ‘Damelo’ seem to establish Salto’s identity as a Latin House artist but his production range goes from House to pop and African. He has worked with some of the biggest names of the music industry like Pitbull, J-Lo, Rita Ora and many more. Salto was infected by House at one of his school parties and he has been a producer since then. His track with Pitbull “Echa Pa’lla”, was nominated for a Grammy Award in the category Best Urban Song, and has also won a Grammy in the category of Best performance. Salto’s unusual productiveness has made him an extremely popular remixer which you can confirm from his discography. He got famous with his breakout single “Can’t Stop Playing” with Dr.Kucho, a catchy house tune and he has been super active giving out good music since then. One of the biggest highlights of his productions is his pair-ups with the jungle terror, Wiwek. Be it a collaboration or a remix, these two never disappoint with their tribal sound. Gregor Salto also hosts a weekly podcast named Salto Sounds. While Salto also accompanied Afrojack last year on his India tour, it will surely be a blast to catch him live once again at local shores.
Wiwek
Vivek Bajrangi, a Dutch DJ better known as Wiwek and “Jungle Terror” for bringing the tribal sounds to the mainstream. His recent releases like Chameleon (With Hardwell), Fire (With Alvaro), Miami (With Gregor Salto) are establishing his stand in the scene more than ever. Wiwek is known for bringing the terror with him and when people attend his shows, they know what they are getting into. It’s always a wild experience with his excellent tribal percussion and perfect vocals for the atmosphere. As I said before, his pair up with Gregor Salto is killer. Their track “On Your Mark” is almost a year old and is still going strong. Make sure to stay tuned as the Jungle Terror has much more planned which is about to see the light of the day (Like a collaboration with Skrillex!) So who knows what surprise(s) he might have on his set when he plays with Afrojack on his India tour.
Apster
Abdesamad Ben Abdelaouid, better known as DJ Apster is a talented DJ and producer from Tilburg, Natherlands. Having releases on variety of reputed labels and having remixed the tracks from the likes of Afrojack, Laidback Luke, Sidney Samson, the Bingo Players and Hardwell, Apster has earned his spot on Afrojack’s crew of WALL regulars. Apster received massive support in the beginning of his career from top names like Laidback Luke, Erick Morillo and Roger Sanchez for his remixes. It was quickly followed by numerous releases and remixes. Apster got highlighted by a remix of Sandro Silva’s ‘Told Ya’, released on Steve Aoki’s label Dim Mak and Pitbull’s track ‘Pause’, which was produced by Apster. Apster has not looked back since then. He has been a regular on Afrojack’s Wall Recordings since he released his track ‘Bubble Gutz’ and remixed Afrojack’s platinum US smash hit ‘Take Over Control’ ft. Eva Simons. Apster has accompanied Afrojack on his Australian and Europe tour this summer and will also be accompanying him for his India tour. Take no less of Apster as he is a stellar DJ as well. He has been playing at events like ‘JACKED‘ ‘F*ck Me, I’m Famous‘ (Ibiza) and ‘Super You & Me‘, not to forget numerous events worldwide. So brace yourselves as Apster sets the stage on fire.
Oliver Rosa
Amsterdam based Oliver de la Rosa Padilla, aka Oliver Rosa is a young talent on Afrojack’s crew. This young fellow is a talented DJ and is climbing his way up the ladder. The musical legacy of his mother (who has won the Soundmix show in 1992) is being carried out by Oliver. He possess the talents as a musician too with not only piano but drums and guitar too. Besides being a musician, Oliver is also an excellent producer. With releases and remixes on reputed labels as Wall Recordings, Oliver Rosa is the name you wouldn’t want to forget. Oliver has played some of the biggest clubs in Europe and he knows how to work a crowd. So get ready to be blown up by Oliver Rosa.
Ravitez
Ravitez is one of the rising names in EDM scene. This Rotterdam based DJ and producer has been around for quite some time and it won’t be wrong to say he is making his way towards the top. With releases like “Take It Easy”, “Play On” and “Long Road”, Ravitez proves his excellence in production. His track ‘Vice’ has landed on Protocol Records ADE compilation and his latest release ‘Reverse’ is scheduled on 23rd Nov on Afrojack’s Wall Recordings. Let’s see what Ravitez has to unveil while he accompanies Afrojack on the Indian tour.
