IBIZA!!! A place, a name that every party person knows and loves for its lively nightlife. This Balearic island in the Mediterranean Sea has been home to Electronic Dance Music scene and it has led to some groundbreaking progress in the infrastructure. The nightclubs in Ibiza provide an unmatchable experience with class-A sound and visual production, luxurious services and industry’s top artists playing for them; to name a few! As we are marching towards the end of the summer season at Ibiza, here we list five nightclubs of Ibiza that are at the top in their game and always keep improving to serve the people better.
Space, Ibiza
Established as a concert hall in 1989, Space Ibiza is owned by Pepe Rosello and is known to be world’s most awarded club. With a slick Funktion One sound system installed in its 5 different spaces: Terraza, Sunset Terraza, Discoteca, El Salón and Premier Étage, each of which changes its flavor depending upon what day of the week it is. Space is famous especially for its opening and closing parties. Over the years, Space has earned dedicated clubbers who fly in especially for these opening and closing parties, for which the setup is extended to the outdoor parking, increasing the capacity of 5000 attendees.
Popular parties at Space are Carl Cox‘s Tuesday residency and ENTER. nights. The crowd is at the peak during those times. The principal rooms are the Terraza and Discoteca, each with crystal clear sound and stunning visuals. Space is located right under the flight path of planes landing at Ibiza’s only airport. As the jets come swooping in, it has always been habitual for the cheers to go up and the arms to follow soon after. Keeping that in mind, Space innovated by opening in the morning, after the other clubs had shut. That gave the birth to Space’s Flagship Sunday sessions in 1999. We Love… Space is a weekly party which opens at 4.30 pm on Sunday and keeps going until 6 AM Monday morning. The event runs for 16 weeks throughout the summer season. That was one of the major reasons behind the terrace parties at Terraza becoming a sensation for daytime clubbers and it is still intact to the very date.
Pacha, Ibiza
Created in Ibiza in 1973 with a little estate, Pacha has grown into the most dominant clubbing brand in the world, with the headquarter at Ibiza venue being the jewel in the crown. Pacha is completely linked with Ibiza itself and represents the growth of the island. As the 40th year, 2013 brought big changes with a bunch of new nights and big names from both the underground and mainstream of dance music.
Alongside being Ibiza’s oldest and the most well-known club, Pacha is famous for the cherries, VIP tables and playground of the rich and famous. Pacha’s biggest parties are David Guetta‘s F*** Me I’m Famous, Flower Power, Solomun + 1 with the latest inclusion of My House by Martin Solveig.
Pacha is a magnificent club, a luxurious and almost grand feel with an antique and exotic charm running through its decor and design. It takes at least 5 visits to find your favourite place at Pacha. The main room with its major specialty of VIP tables offers a stunning outlook at the dance floor and the DJ booth. One of the locations of the DJ booth is elevated at the room’s corner and gives a whole new feel to the clubbers and the DJ both. Pacha has now expanded its horizons to other party locations in the world and also owns a hotel business now. There’s no stopping to this old and veteran entertainment giant!
Ushuaia Beach Hotel
Situated just in front of Space, Ushuaïa started only 4 years back, in 2011 but take no wrong impression here, because in very short time Ushuaïa has got its name placed in the top party venues in Ibiza because of championing huge DJ names, amazing stage production, glamorous dancers and attendees and a fantastically placed VIP section! Ushuaia offers the best outdoor poolside clubbing even during the day time so that you can enjoy some of the world’s biggest DJs while the sun is setting. The popular parties at Ushuaia boast of whopping huge names like F*** Me I’m Famous, Axwell Ingrosso & Friends, I Am Hardwell and Armin Van Buuren‘s A State Of Trance with the recent summer additions of Hardwell’s Carnival and Martin Garrix Multiply! Amnesia, Ibiza
Undisputedly being the ultimate Ibiza clubbing experience, Amnesia spreads the joy in its two massive rooms. One of which is a dark vast cauldron and the another is an expensive arena with the brightest of the lights. Both the rooms have a special feature of Amnesia ice cannons that could strike at any time. Very Diverse in its schedule, Amnesia offers the best of techno, house, trance, dubstep and even some live shows. During the busy times, Amnesia is known for taking the people to the very highest of the pleasure with every single hand in the air! The Main Room at Amnesia is the traditional place to rave with a pit-like square, central dance floor surrounded by the VIP areas on the higher level, providing an amazing view of the festivity below. Amnesia also hosts Espuma parties at which life-threatening quantities of foam are pumped onto the dance floor in the Main Room. Due to complaints from its neighbours, Amnesia had to cover its open-air dance floor in the late 90s. Even so, the club expanded massively with the number of bars increasing from 4 to 16, and from a staff of 30 to more than 200 employees during the summer festivities.
Sankeys, Ibiza
Sankeys is already a recognised heavyweight in the UK clubbing landscape and opened its Ibiza branch in 2011. Although a newcomer on the island, Sankeys has made a name for itself as the heaven of underground music. Keeping the visuals and entertainment to a bare minimum, Sankeys offer the best of the underground music scene. One does not simply go to Sankeys for anything other than the music. Sankeys says, Sankeys delivers! Sankeys is located in Playa D’en Bossa, in the street opposite Garbi Hotel. It is a 1500 capacity club with 3 rooms, roof terrace, an amazing VOID sound system, a body sonic dance floor and a great choice of nights for Ibiza. Sankeys is famous for its classic basement clubbing and underground music. Viva Warriors and Tribal Sessions are two of the most popular parties at Sankeys! If you are a real lover of underground music, this is one of the places that you have to visit! Sankeys provides a dark and fade-y old-school rave atmosphere.
