The American Music Awards are one of the most prestigious prizes atop the bookshelf of any musicmaker. Perhaps, the most democratic of them all, the awards are governed by polls of listeners and fans combined with record sales to truly judge the presence of the artist in the musical consciousness of his fans. This years awards were a top notch affair with the world of EDM also getting a fresh successor after Swedish mastermind Avicii bagged the award last year. The winner for the category of ‘Favorite EDM Artist‘ is – Scottish Powerhouse Producer-DJ Calvin Harris! The Grammy Award winner took home the coveted prize beating competition of the likes of Zedd & Avicii.

The win sees Harris top a year of personal greats as he became one of the few artists to have his three singles in the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs, with ‘Blame‘, ‘Outside‘ and ‘Summer‘! Also, another personal benchmark was the release of his fourth studio album ‘Motion. The win marks as the shining crescendo to an already shimmering year of fantastic achievements for the Scotsman and we would like to take the opportunity to congratulate him for this amazing milestone!
