Ask people in the dance music fraternity about their opinion on Audien and all you’ll get is glowing reviews about the young American DJ and producer, who is quickly turning out to be the one to look out for in the future.
Seamlessly switching genres from progressive and electro house to trance, the young producer has endeared himself to fans of the genres with his unique sound, ranging from his own produced or collaborated singles to his brilliant remixes.
Originally named Nathaniel “Nate” Rathbun, the young producer took to the stage name of Audien in 2009, when he signed onto Ferry Corsten‘s Flashover Recordings, where he released his first single “Rise & Shine“.

Born into a musically inclined family, where his mother was very passionate about music, and his father used to play the guitar and sing, the environment played a big part in shaping Nate’s passion for music. Being introduced to dance music at an early age of 15, he started experimenting and creating his own music by the time he was 16. Honing his skills continuously, he caught the eye of Ferry Corsten, who signed him onto his record label 3 years later.

And since then, he hasn’t looked back. Going from strength to strength, he caught the eyes of legends like Tiesto, Armin van Buuren and Above & Beyond, having his productions feature on their radio shows and annual compilations.
His singles like Hindsight, Circles, Serotonin, Iris etc. and remixes for Armin van Buuren‘s “This Is What It Feels Like“, Bastille‘s Pompeii (which was the most played track at EDC Las Vegas this year), his remix of NERVO’Revolution have made him one of the finest young producers in the scene today. However there are two tracks that have made him standout. His 2013 single Wayfarer is perhaps his most famous track till date, having being played by Above & Beyond as the opening track for their set for ABGT001 in Bangalore, 2012. And he took probably the biggest step of his career by recently remixing The King of Pop, Michael Jackson‘s “Slave To The Rhythm“, which is probably his finest remix and work till date. Already signed on records like Anjunabeats, Armada and Spinnin‘, the future seems bright for this young prodigy, who at the age of 22 is taking the dance music world by a storm.
