Jonas von der Fehr, or known to the dance music world by his studio alias, Fehrplay, has often been synonymous with the Pryda Friends label. He and his label colleague, Jeremy Olander, had finished a widely successful world tour last year, performing together through out.
Pryda Friends, one of the mos highly regarded labels in Dance Music, is owned by one dance music’s best, brightest and most respected mind’s Eric Prydz. Almost every release on the label is always regarded as dance music gold, and it takes a lot of talent from any producer to get signed to such an elite and prestigious label.
So naturally, the whole world was thrown into a state of shock and awe, when Fehrplay recently announced his decision to move away from the reputed label. He recently took to Facebook to comment on the nature of this move, saying that this decision was a result of his need to do things his ‘own way’. He went on to publicly thank Eric Prydz for his guidance and his mentorship and thanks all his fans for the support on his decision to start this new chapter of his career on a positive note.

I think its time to make it clear about my move to work with Ultra, mau5trap and other brands away from Pryda Friends. There has been a lot of questions about why I made the decision to release on other labels so i think its time I cleared the air and set the record straight. After many months of negotiation I decided not to pursue a management agreement with Pryda earlier this year. It was a hard decision for me as it was the place where i got my break, and where I got to work with a legend and the person, to this day, I respect the most when it comes to music.
I felt the need to start doing things my own way and unfortunately that meant I had to step away from Pryda Friends and Eric. So to clear up any confusion once and for all, i am officially no longer associated with Pryda Friends or Eric. I would like to take this oppotunity to publicly thank Eric for all the guidance, help and advice in the time we worked together. It was a magical experience, of which i have the happiest memories, but now its time for me to explore new avenues.
I’d also like to thank everyone who has supported me since the beginning. I have started a new chapter in my career which has begun with positivity. I will continue to try and push the boundaries of my music and hopefully entertain a few of you along the way
