It’s happening! After the mighty success of Tomorrowland’s 2016 edition, the organizers are all set to take it up a notch as they plan to make two weekends of festivities a signature characteristic of the massive event. Following their colossal two-weekend stint back in 2014 which marked the celebrations of their decade long endeavor, the Boom-based festival has now reportedly received permission from the local government to add a second weekend to match up to its exponential growth.
Moreover Gazet van Antwerpen reported the entire happening, with Tomorrowland representatives saying:
“The purpose of this [hosting the festival in 2 weekends] is to meet the huge demand for tickets from international and local fans. Meanwhile, with the blessing of the municipalities of Boom & Rumst, we can go ahead and start preparing for 2 weekends as of next summer.”
As per Tomorrowland’s social media post, the 2017 edition will take place in Belgium from July 21-23 followed by Weekend 2 from July 28-July 30 for a second round. For further updates, stay tuned and relive the 2016 aftermovie below!
