Seems like the Disney-Deadmau5 feud isn’t going to see an end soon, with new arguments being put forth by both the parties time and again. This time, shots were fire by Joel Zimmerman.
Last year, Zimmerman wanted to trademark his mau5head logo, which was conflicted upon by Disney who claimed that the logo was nearly identical to the trademark of Disney’s most eminent figure, Micky Mouse. Ever since then, the two parties have been crossing swords over this issue. Just recently, Deadmau5 issued a response of more than 1000 pages to the United States Trademark Office against Disney’s 171 page opposition to his trademark attempt.
The feud has led to the sensational DJ/Producer losing out on some great opportunities like remixing the Star Wars Rebels theme song and rescinding of an offer to feature on ABC’s ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ due to Disney expressing it’s apprehension. Deadmau5’s latest response also asserts that Disney had approached Zimmerman to re-imagine Disney’s Fantasia for its 75th anniversary as a concert a year ago but the partnership did not materialize. Have a look at Deadmau5’ latest 1000+ page response (excluding the exhibits) below to find more details.
