The year of 2014 has been one of the most defining years for Alesso. Just after finishing up with a successful “Uprising” tour across North America, Alessandro received a Grammy nomination for his remix of One Republic’s “If I Lose Myself”. Not one to rest on his laurels, Alessandro then decided to work on his first solo album right away. Finally, after months of hard work in the studio we can now see the quality of his work come through.

His last release “Tear The Roof Up” brought such a massive response that Def Jam Recordings wasted no time in signing up this rising superstar for a recording contract. Just like his track “Clash”, this was a track that showed how Alesso is never afraid of experimenting with his music.

“Heroes” made its debut during Alesso’s Tommorrowland set earlier this year and was premiered during Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show last month. Fans in Ibiza also got a taste of the track when Alesso brought down Tove Lo to perform “Heroes” live for the first time at Ushuaia in Ibiza last month.

“Heroes” will be the first track that has been taken from Alesso’s upcoming debut album. The track plays to Alesso’s strength as it brings us back to the blissful progressive sound that turned him into a household name. Sweden is heavily represented in this track as Alesso brings on rising Swedish singer Tove Lo to perform the vocals. This is Alesso at his most epic and elegant, and it also stands out as one of Tove’s most massive performance to date.

When asked by Vibe magazine, on what needs to happen in order for him to be comfortable with the final product on a song like “Heroes”, Alesso says “It’s that last minute stomach goose bump feeling. It just feels right. I’ve worked on songs that I think are finished but when I go back, work on something else, it’s a special unique feeling that needs to be one hundred percent sure. I would never release a track and be like “Let’s see how this goes”. I need to be a hundred percent sure. I need to feel that it feels right.”

Our feeling tells us that Alesso’s album will be something special that all music lovers need to watch out for!
