Hardwell reacts to hateful comments of an Armin fan; Involves fan’s sister!

Being part of any creative process means to constantly come under the criticism of critics & fans alike. Some fans perhaps go beyond the usual norm and personally attack artists in a manner which may become unacceptable. In the dance music industry, such people are at times referred to as “haters”.

While some artists choose to play down their comments & meme’s in good spirit, some comments test even the most creative of minds. Recently crowned world #1 DJ and Dutch superstar, Hardwell, started 2014 on a tad bit sour note, as he lashed out against a loyal Armin van Buuren fan for his excessively hateful comments.

When Hardwell wished all his fans the season’s greetings and thanked them for a superb 2013 which saw him overtake fellow Dutchman, Armin van Buuren whilst becoming DJ Mag‘s #1 DJ of the world for the very first time, he would have surely expected some hateful comments besides all the love he received. However, when a certain fan of Armin’s, proclaimed his loyalty to the 5 time winning dance music mogul to everyone and called Hardwell a “nobody” and a “fail”, it goes without saying that the ‘spaceman’ would certainly have felt the pinch.

Now, the current world #1 DJ is usually a cheerful person but perhaps what overdid it, was the fact that the fan insisted that Hardwell would pre-record his sets. For any artist to let such accusations pass in good spirit would surely be rare, especially if you accuse an artist of Hardwell’s stature with such allegations. Having been rubbed the wrong way, Robbert van de Corput aka Hardwell chose to then reply to the Armin loyalist, with a smart & equally personal attack! He simply interpreted the fan’s message as, ‘having played a set so flawless that it was as good as a pre-recorded set…and that the only thing he recorded was the after party with the fan’s sister!’

This comment spurned a social media rave as loyalists of Hardwell extended his comment and continued with some outrageous memes and trolls. So much so that you may now find a page on a social networking website dedicated to the fan!

Ironically, both Hardwell & Armin have in their individual capacity reserved the highest degree of praise for each other. Whether Armin himself would approve of his fan’s comments is itself questionable, but Hardwell’s witty reply to the fan was surely one of the finest anti-hate replies we’ve seen yet!
