When you’re talking purely about EDM genres then people are usually referring to the likes of trance, house, progressive house, dubstep and techno amongst many others.

Well here is an interesting piece of news for all those EDM lovers out there!

Apart from the most common ones mentioned above, you also have trap music.

Trap music happens to be a new sub-genre in the EDM scene, and is an up-and-coming bass-filled sound. A style of music that is typically described as a cross between hip-hop, dubstep, heavy bass, and trappy snares which form this sound of crunk hip-hop beats.

Nima Yamini is giving us a chance to see how special this style of music is by organizing a fun-filled event that will bring together some super talented trap artists. Nima through his label AvenueA Soundcheck is getting the likes of  Mess Kid, Ille and lmanos live on Saturday, January 26th, 2013 at Aksel Loft in New York City.

In Nima’s words, “What makes this event on the 26th so special, are the talented musicians who are DJing a more eclectic electronic set with trap leanings, in a beautiful loft in Tribeca, rather than the usual NYC bottle service nightclub.”

Nima is one of the biggest flag bearers of this unique genre and to get a feel of his style of music you can check out one of his biggest tracks called “Shiraz Riots” (song link below). This track is a typical trap-electronic record produced with serious percussions, paired with a middle-eastern sound.

The event starts at 10 pm and finishes at around 4 am. Tickets are limited and are $25.00 pre-sale, which include 2 complimentary cocktails. You can purchase your ticket by clicking here http://jan26-2013.eventbrite.com.
