DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s 2013 results announced; Hardwell takes the top spot!

Known to be controversial and frequently disputed amongst the global clubbing circuit, the DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s poll has swiftly grown to be one of the most heavily followed DJ rankings worldwide. This years poll saw a considerable amount of rumours emerge that leading Dutch DJ/Producer, Hardwell had taken the top slot along with last years numero uno, Armin van Buuren coming in second whilst Swedish superstar Avicii taking the third spot just like last year.

Well rumours aside, the results for 2013 were just announced at a special ceremony during the on going Amsterdam Dance Event, and as was expected the top spot was taken by Hardwell, Armin Van Buuren took the number two spot, followed by Avicii at number three, Tiesto at four, and David Guetta at five. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Nicky Romero, Steve Aoki, Afrojack, and Dash Berlin round out the top 10.

Check out Hardwell’s first interview immediately after being announced as #1 below.

As tradition holds, there are two simultaneous parties running, one at the main event at ADE and the other at London’s renowned nightclub, Ministry of Sound. Upon being announced as the winner, Hardwell embarks on a whirlwind night which involves him flying between the two by private jet to play at both.

Dyro took the honours of the highest new entrant on the chart this year, debuting at an impressive number 30 and Andrew Rayel had the highest climb, jumping to number 28.

While the results of the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs poll may be often debated, they do serve as a good indicator of trends in the scene. There is a lot of young new talent to make the list this year, and a lot of the past heavyweights continue to slip in the rankings.

DJ Mag Top 100

Only hours ahead of the official announcement of DJ Mags Top 100 results at this years ADE Conference has come a supposed leak of the top 3 placed DJs, with all three rather unsurprisingly representing the upper echelon of the ‘EDM’ world. The poll canvassed over 750,000 votes and also involved some rather suspect stories of heavy marketing budgets being pushed behind DJs that saw Gareth Emery give DJ Mag a ‘big F you’ after being told via an anonymous call he would need up to $15,000 to compete for a place, eventually donating the same amount to a charity. Hell even David Guetta came out saying he doesn’t want your votes, but did… in a rather round about manner.

The leak stems from a Facebook page that shares the top 3 as coming from ‘big name EDM managers’.
