The super talented Alesso returns to remixing tracks by taking up One Republic’s new single “If I Lose Myself” from the band’s upcoming studio album “Naive”.

After premiering it across several shows in the past couple of months and also playing it during his India tour back in January, this track will finally be released under Sebastian Ingrosso’s label “Refune Records”.

The remix starts with a mellow piano introduction and then let’s Ryan Tedder’s vocals (same vocalist who sang “Calling”) take over the track. The build up to the drop is supported by light drum beats, which then eventually lead you to the big room progressive house chord that Alesso is known for.

The overall feel around the track is very emotional and one can easily see this being played at many upcoming festivals later this year.

Many Alesso fans would feel that their Swedish superstar could have done a much better job with the track and somewhere we can understand where they are coming from. After setting the bar with an outstanding track like “Clash” recently, the standards are set pretty high for Alesso.

On another note, 2013 could also be a defining year for this young DJ.  This can be an opportunity for him to finally emerge out of the SHM shadow and prove his critics wrong by coming up with fresh sounds.
