Musical Freedom previews an anonymous single “Gecko”

Tiesto‘s imprint Musical Freedom which is known for its big room club  releases, now deviate from the usual and tease an upcoming house tune “Gecko”. Keeping the anonymity of the artist, the label previews this striking melodious techno infused deep house track with no information over its release date. “Gecko” is suspected to be produced by the young dutch Oliver Heldens, who in the past has produced electro hits like “Juggernaut” and “Buzzer”. This track reminds us of the old groovy house music, filled with smart percussion work and a catchy melody. Check out the teaser below and watch this space for more info over it.

Gig Review: Cry Freedom in Mumbai

On the 9th of August at Blue Frog Mumbai, Indigo Live brought brought together ‘Cry Freedom- The Fight On Violence Against Women’. Addressing the issue of crime against women by bringing together socially aware & like-minded individuals through the platform of music and comedy, the night bought together various artists cutting across genres of Electronica & Indie pop. The impressive Artist line-up included stand up comedian Aditi Mittal, Indie singer-songwriter Vasuda Sharma with Shanks and the trilogy of Indian Electronica giants Sulk Station, Sandunes & Dualist Inquiry.

TST & Alvaro – Out Of Control [Preview]

An almost rastafarian feeling comes to life when you first listen to the preview of ‘Out of Control’ by TST & Alvaro. Rastafarian but in a completely new age, modern avtar, the track is set for release under Musical Freedom on November 25th and is definitely rave worthy.

Jasper Helderman’s infamous music alter ego Alvaro has put tremendous efforts into manipulating this unique track into the road of festival worthy number. Amsterdam bred young prodigy, this man has produced numerous hits like “Welcome To The Jungle”, “NaNaNa”, “United”, “World In Our Hands”,“Make the crowd Go” and many more. Although a little misleading, TST is none other than our very own dance music giant Tiesto using a mysterious name such as TST to release this particular number.

“Out of Control” starts off with some lightning speed rapping and comes to a crashing halt only to pick up with some crazy horns and beats. This one definitely hits the right spot on all the parts.

Running with ethereal vocals complemented by the resolved synths and clapping drums that result in a well-coated tune, it builds into a big uplifting progressive drop.

Tiesto drives awareness and makes a significant contribution to the global fund to fight AIDS

Mobilizing the global dance community around the AIDS fight, World AIDS Day 2012 saw electronic dance music pioneer, Tiësto, release the first DANCE (RED), SAVE LIVES compilation album. Produced by Musical Freedom in collaboration with (RED) and Recreation Worldwide, the album went to #1 on the iTunes dance charts in 33 countries, and set a new precedent for dance music artists supporting the work of The Global Fund to fight AIDS.

So far, sales of the 2012 DANCE (RED), SAVE LIVES album – along with a personal donation from Tiësto as part of the social media component of the campaign – have contributed $500,000 for The Global Fund; money which is used to finance programs which provide prevention, treatment, counselling, HIV testing and care services.

Ultra Worldwide announces ‘Ultra Europe‘, commits to a 5 year residency in Croatia.

Ultra Europe 2013 was the first ever Ultra Music Festival to take place on European shores. On the 28th of November 2012, it was announced in a press conference in Zagreb that Ultra Europe will take place in Croatia for 5 consecutive years from 2013.

Everyone who’s been into the scene long enough knows the magical tune Flight 643. Back in a time when Tiesto (DJ Tiesto, then) was producing the purest trance, to say Flight 643 was a hit would be the understatement of the century. Released on In My Memory way back in 2001, this track is a classic old school revelation that never gets old. Having been remixed tons of times, John Christian does remarkably well to channel his efforts into a recipe of illustrious drum work, gritty synths and claps all mixed up in dangerously high doses of festival energy, this was already appreciated by the crowds of Tomorroworld and Beyond Wonderland.
