Jerome Isma-Ae & Justin Michael - Awaken (Original Mix)

Jee Productions, the flourishing label of Jerome Isma-Ae and now a part of Armada Music, has come long way since its launch in 2004. Living up to its reputation Jee Productions comes with the release of ‘Awaken’ a collaboration between Jerome and LA-based producer Justin Michael featuring Novi.

Known for his distinguished drum patterns and rumbling basslines, German producer Jerome Isma-Ae is one of the highest selling progressive house producers in the world. Dutch/American Justin Michael also pioneers his own sound, specializing in ‘Rocktronica,’ and has worked with esteemed vocalists like Bruno Mars. Electro-pop songstress Novi rounds out the collaboration, lending her magnificent vocals and dark undertones to the driving track. Having dark sounds and techy rough edges it gives a progressive-house tune a dirty intense push becoming a perfect play for the 4AM moments in the underground clubs.

An outstanding kick-off to Jee Production’s adding up on Armada Music, ‘Awaken’ is out now and you can buy here on Beatport.

Gig Review: Gareth Emery & Jerome Isma-Ae at Royalty, Mumbai

Dance music has found its place in Mumbai. It has permanently embedded itself into the hearts of this metropolis of dance music enthusiasts and anybody who had doubted this before July 18th 2013, I would have to sit them down and talk them through it. However, looking back, that Thursday night, which encompassed two of the biggest DJ’s of the world along with two bright talents from the city, stated out big and bold that dance music with all its facets is here to stay.

Submerge – one of India’s largest promotions & events company for dance music, brought together the mastermind from Munich - Jerome Isma-Ae and the legend from Manchester - Gareth Emery to Royalty, Mumbai to mark a night of dance music diversity delivered to absolute perfection. Where on one hand local talents Beatstatic (comprised of Suraj Nambiar a.k.a Jarus & Rachit Jobalia a.k.a Kroschild) and Willy warmed up the crowd to some lukewarm electro house and deep house tunes, Jerome Isma-Ae blasted the club with his careful selection of dance-floor smashers ranging from genres of progressive house and trance.

All that was left was for the birthday boy Gareth Emery to rock the crowd with some anthems ranging from house music to even some classical trance – a genre which put Gareth Emery on the dance music map. All in all, the night was a spectacular one, nothing short of one-of-those-festival-experiences with divergent sounds echoing long after the night had come to a close.

Hit past the break to read ahead on what went down when Jerome Isma-ae & Gareth Emery together gave Royalty, Mumbai a night to remember!

Artist Of The Month – Jerome Isma-Ae (July 2013)

jerome1

Hailing from Munich, Jerome Isma-Ae is one of the highest-selling & most successful producers around and is also the owner of the label “Jee-Productions”. The German producer/DJ is known for his distinguished sound; a rumbling beat with a build up that you recognize the second you hear the first drum sample. Exceptionally talented, he manages to keep his signature sound in all his productions and remixes while still delivering variety.

At the age of 12, he played the bass in a metal band and by the age of 15, he had already started to program his first beats with a drum machine. 3 years later he released his first 12″ record on a German techno label called ‘Delirium Records’. Nowadays, he’s greatly inspired by movie soundtracks among his other influences.

Ilan Bluestone & Jerome Isma-Ae – Under My Skin (Original Mix)

Ilan Bluestone & Jerome Isma-Ae – Under My Skin (Original Mix)

Ilan Bluestone blew everyone’s mind off with his single ‘Sinai’ and it seems there’s no way stopping him. Already played on Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy radio show as the ‘Record of the Week’, this massive tune has received a lot of interest already. Two masters of their own game ilan Bluestone and German producerJerome Isma-Ae collaborated to produce this simple yet uplifting masterpiece. Also supported by Armin van Buuren on his A State of Trance radio show, it’s a hybrid of progressive house meeting trance with bouncy construction that builds the thrill continuously.

As soon as the track kicks off, it starts off with a very funk-ish vibe. Ilan Bluestone seems to have elongated the build up on purpose, and we’re not complaining. It seems as though he intentionally tantalises you with the multi-layered synth and piano riff and the breakdown, and to that he’s added a phasered pick up, just to keep you right on the edge, begging for a drop.  And then BAM! He kills you with the euphorically intense drop that is much more than what you’d expect. With an uplifting tubular chord progression, it’s the sheer tone of it that crawls “Under Your Skin”. Just when you’re about to have your fill with it, he brings back a second break down. That’s when you know, you’re back on this roller coaster of a ride once again.

A highly unpredictable ID from Above & Beyond’s Ultra Festival set, “Under My Skin”, is out on Anjunabeats label.

Grab this monster tune here on Beatport.

Already played on Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy radio show as the ‘Record of the Week’, this massive tune is definite to receive a lot of attention this summer in many a set. Two masters of their own game collaborate to produce this simple yet uplifting masterpiece. From the very beginning the track gives a typical Ilan Bluestone feeling with a perfect build that gets you ready for an absolutely contagious bass line after the drop.

The progression is so beautiful that if you are at a concert, it is sure to get even the most disinterested person up and moving. Ilan Bluestone blew everyone’s mind off with his single ‘Sinai’ and it seems there’s no stopping him. Keep a look out for the release!

Alex M.O.R.P.H. & Jerome Isma-Ae – Bang! (Original Mix)

20130604-013702.jpg

Alex M.O.R.P.H. has been a prominent member of the Armada family as his sound covers gorgeous melodies and truly represents the emotional side of Trance. Jerome Isma-Ae on the other hand, drives his sound towards Progressive House, intense bass lines and incredible atmosphere with his action. In general, collaborations tend to show proportionate contribution but this is something unlike anything we’ve ever heard.

First showcased in Alex M.O.R.P.H.‘s highly unusual set at the ASOT 600 New York, it was a track that completely blew everyone’s mind off. The drop is very consistent of deep bass lines, solid bass kicks and a single vocal timbre that is reverbed. This is an evident Tech track, but the simplicity and highly unusual samples used give this release a certain shine that makes it stand out among the rest. With this extremely impressive piece of music, we can’t wait to see what they will collaborate on next.

You can buy it here on Beatport.

One of the most talked-about ID’s of Armin van Buuren’s set at ASOT600 Den Bosch, is finally revealed and now, ‘Bang!’ by Alex M.O.R.P.H and Jerome Isma-Ae looks set to rule. It’s truly surprising what German producers Alex M.O.R.P.H. and Jerome Isma-Ae come up with once they depart from the usual genres of which they are known to be masters. To give the Ibiza season a swell kick-off, they present an anthemic tune and the first of hopefully many more collaborations to follow. A bass-driven play of rhythm, drums and outstanding balance of Tech and Progressive House. ‘Bang!’ brings out the darker shades of the Armind label.

Out on Beatport: 3rd of June. Get ready!

Jerome Isma-ae & Max Freegrant – Thrill Me (Original Mix)

thrillme

OMG ! here is something that’ll satisfy the thirsts of progressive house enthusiasts. The Ukrainian Progressive House Star, Max Freegrant  and JEE Productions Label Owner Jerome Isma-Ae (highest-selling progressive house deejay/prod. around) teamed up and created this heavy driving tune with an epic breakdown .

It takes on a beautiful uplifting beat, that goes a notch faster with thrashing synch that boasts, climbs and falls into a percussive  progressive beat that just reverberates in your brain. Of course the track wouldn’t be complete without the usual cornucopia of tweaks, and drops and general ear-catching noises that one comes to expect from Jerome Isma-ae. He manages to keep his signature sound in all his production and remixes while still delivering variety.

After the great support by Armin van Buuren, Above and Beyond, Gareth Emery and many more, there is no stopping this track . This one is sure to do even further damage within the sets of the world’s elite over the coming months.

Sebastian Krieg and Jerome Isma-Ae – ‘M1′

da

This is how progressive anthems are born . ‘Jee production’s honcho Jerome (aka Future Funk) is renowned for his impressive progressive sounds, while Krieg delivers quality in both his production and impressive deejaying skills. This track is exactly what comes out of two inexplicably talented and perfectly collabed artists.

“M1″ builds up with a classic chord progression and is full of  sizzling bass lines and hyped rhythms and slight touches of infectious grooves. The track is dedicated to “M1″  legendary BMW1.

This progressive weapon is sure to cause damage on any dance floor.

Simon Patterson – Full On Fluoro, Vol.1

Simon Patterson - Full On Fluoro, Vol.1

With enormous thirteen #1s on Beatport and recently taking the figure to 14 with his latest single ‘Brush Strokes’, Simon Patterson’s reputation for constancy is truly remarkable. And surprisingly three of those number ones having occurred this year, the wave of popularity he is at present surfing seem to show no signs of collapse.

Subsequent to his recent dual signing to two of Armada’s flagship trance labels – Perfecto Fluoro and Armind,  Simon has also showcased his far-fetched adaptability as a producer. With production styles ranging from the huge hit with vocalist Lucy Pullin “The One” through to his perverse psychedelic productions on Perfecto Fluoro (including his remix of Neelix “Leave Me Alone” and his recent teamwork with Spanish breaks expert Blazer – “Contraband”).

Now Simon turns his mind to his second compilation album of the year. Following on from London Clubbing institution The Gallery’s Eighteenth Birthday album, which Simon contributed a mix for, he now takes things dark, dirty and twisted for Paul Oakenfold’s underground trance label Perfecto Fluoro.

Full on Fluoro 001 is the first in a new series of albums that will focus on supporting the underground side of trance, as well as Breaks and Progressive Psy and will feature Fluoro regulars, allowing them to flex their DJ muscles in a 2 hour, non-stop mix.
