Bruno Mars – Treasure (Audien Remix) [Preview]

http://www.soblondemanagement.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/audien.jpg

The young and upcoming multi-genre producer Audien previews his upcoming remix of Bruno Mars’ – “Treasure” which he has been playing regularly in his sets for past few months. Using the radio friendly vocals of Bruno Mars perfectly, Audien adds his signature progressive sound and larger than life synths. Infusing some electro elements, a harsh bassline and the lovable fat Audien style drop, this remix is just another up to the mark production work from him. With no release info yet, do watch out for it! Out soon on Atlantic Records.

Bruno Mars – Locked Out Of Heaven (Remixes)

Bruno Mars has been hitting the charts pretty hard with his poppy tunes. This one however has turned into a club banger while attracting interest from some big name artists that have remixed it. Sultan + Ned Shepard, who we had the privilege of interviewing when they were touring India, have brought their progressive skills to the song and given us a preview that is all set to release on January 21st. The drop brings to us a heavy hitting feel after Bruno Mars’ signature voice and doesn’t fail to please.Sultan+Ned Bruno

Next up is R3hab, who happens to be the first artist we ever got to interview. This was in back in September of 2012, when he blew the minds of Delhiites at Kitty Su. Here you will find the Moroccan-Dutch wizard stepping away from his well known “chainsaw” style and trying his hand at the latest EDM genre, Trap. R3hab, calling this his ‘Afterhour remix’,  experiments with some downtempo basslines and snares after which he drops wobbles and piercing synths. Definitely a new and mature sound coming from R3hab which makes us excited to see what 2013 holds for the talented producer.

Finally, we have one of dance music’s biggest and most well known veterans. Paul Oakenhold, who we hope to interview one day, has been consistently involved in the music scene since the 80′s. From acid house, Goa trance and doing film scores, this heavyweight producer brings his flavor to the sound of a new age soul/pop artist. This one is also a preview with a more upbeat and electro vibe and is expected to be out on Atlantic Records on January 21st as well.

Jerome Isma-Ae & Justin Michael – Awaken (Original Mix)

Jerome Isma-Ae & Justin Michael - Awaken (Original Mix)

Jee Productions, the flourishing label of Jerome Isma-Ae and now a part of Armada Music, has come long way since its launch in 2004. Living up to its reputation Jee Productions comes with the release of ‘Awaken’ a collaboration between Jerome and LA-based producer Justin Michael featuring Novi.

Known for his distinguished drum patterns and rumbling basslines, German producer Jerome Isma-Ae is one of the highest selling progressive house producers in the world. Dutch/American Justin Michael also pioneers his own sound, specializing in ‘Rocktronica,’ and has worked with esteemed vocalists like Bruno Mars. Electro-pop songstress Novi rounds out the collaboration, lending her magnificent vocals and dark undertones to the driving track. Having dark sounds and techy rough edges it gives a progressive-house tune a dirty intense push becoming a perfect play for the 4AM moments in the underground clubs.

An outstanding kick-off to Jee Production’s adding up on Armada Music, ‘Awaken’ is out now and you can buy here on Beatport.

Gig Review: Alvaro At Royalty, Mumbai.

1175411_416906768419259_1819250542_n

Dutch DJ/Producer Alvaro is well known for his prowess, whether its his original productions, collaborations or remixes with his usual partner in crime, Quintino or other artists, he has developed quite a name for himself in a relatively short period of time.

To describe his style, we’d say it’s dirty electro/stomp house which seems to be quite the rage these days, with a majority of charts being dominated by similar sounds. Alvaro has carved quite a niche for himself, with his tracks being supported by the industry’s biggest names like Hardwell, Tiesto, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, just to name a few.

His most recent notable productions have been United (Ultra Music Festival Anthem) and the raw club anthem Welcome to the Jungle which are just some of the tracks that have formed a part of almost every playlist at all the major music festivals around the world.

Just recently, much to the delight of many, he decided to stop by at Royalty, Mumbai and our team stopped by to check out what he had to offer.  And we must say, we were witness to quite a show.

Gig Review: Sunburn Arena: Hardwell’s ‘I Am Hardwell’ Tour With Dannic In Mumbai

“I AM HARDWELL…AND THANK YOU MUMBAI….YOU HAVE BEEN ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC TONIGHT..!!”

Over the past year, an array of DJ’s have made their way onto our shores and into our hearts. And almost each and every one of these artists, have certified how zealous Indian fans and their intense passion lends an infectious energy to them which marks an important phase in their Tour calendars. So, when the world renowned Spaceman acknowledges a packed arena of some 10,000 of his loyal devotees with words of praise, you are assured that we have cemented our spot on the Dance Music Map as one of the World’s favorite audiences.

26-year old Robbert van de Corput, or as we all prefer to call him-Hardwell, bought his ambitious concept ‘I am Hardwell’ world tour to Indian shores (Remember how we bought this exclusive news to you back in July!). Partnering with the Sunburn Arena, the Dutch artist presented everything he stands for in a long, extensive three-hour DJ performance. Playing with his good friend and a powerhouse performer in his own right Dannic, Hardwell ensured euphoria as the night was soaked with heavy basslines, beautiful visuals, ceremonious jumping and a slight hint of rain as well! The ‘I am Hardwell’ concept that made its debut in Amsterdam in April 2013, is a result of Hardwell’s own vision and together with his signature musical productions, remixes and mashups, this has led to a brand new dance event.

Audien feat. Michael S. – Leaving You (Official Lyric Video)

Love songs are dancefloor staples, but hate songs aren’t always hands-in-the-air moments. In “Leaving You,” Audien (aka Nate Rathbun) has created an anthemic kiss-off, one that goes the extra mile in both concocting peak hour buoyancy and verbally decimating an ex lover. It’s a refreshing moment in a crowded field of bangers that all aspire for grandiosity, but often dawdle in a realm far more saccharine. For those who think negativity has no place in dance music, the response of Audien’s fans might be a surprise.

“It’s been exciting to watch fans embrace this track,” the DJ says. “It’s always a sing-along highlight at my live shows.”

A cheerful melody belies the song’s meaning, underscored by topliner Michael S’s loverboy vocals (his soft tenor should give Bruno Mars a reason to look over his shoulder). An official video is in the works, so this song likely will become ingrained in our collective eardrums sooner rather than later. That makes now a good time to learn all the words with this technicolor animated lyric video below:

Gig Review: Morgan Page at Royalty, Mumbai

Morgan Page

American DJ/Producer Morgan Page needs no introduction. For anyone who can call themselves a house or dance music fan, would definitely know who he is. He’s been around for fairly long, and has had a plethora of hits under his belt, including 2 Grammy nominations. On Thursday, the 1st of August, Morgan Page kicked off his India tour, hitting three cities, Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore. We caught the Mumbai leg of the tour and it was much more than what we had expected.

In 2006, Page unleashed Cease and Desist, a self-released, totally unauthorized remix set that took the club scene by storm. He then released a completely diverse electronica-centric album, Elevate, which ranged from club sounds to downtempo tunes.  We all know his immensely emotional hits, “Longest Road” featuring Lissie (the deadmau5 edit of which, earned him a Grammy nomination) , “Fight For You” again, featuring Lissie, and his most recent ”In The Air” with BT, Sultan & Ned Shepherd (featuring Angela McCluskey). Off late he’s been experimenting with a very electro house sound, as one can see with recent releases like  “Where Did You Go” with Andy Caldwell featuring Jonathan Mendelsohn on vocals and “Carry Me” with Nadia Ali.

Gig Review: Cedric Gervais at Royalty, Mumbai

The man who recently made one of the most beautiful women, Lana Del Rey’s track come alive in a whole new way made his way to Indian shores & the crowd was waiting with baited breath. If you still haven’t been able to make out, we’re talking about none other than the French charmer, Cedric Grevias’s tour of India.

The power house DJ born in Marseilles, moved to Miami, at a tender age of fifteen. He left everything behind, a comfortable home, a charming atmosphere to prove to the world that he had arrived. He secured residencies at the best clubs and parties Miami had to offer – Living Room, Nikki Beach, Crobar and Space. His first big break came in the form of ‘Spirit of my Life’ in 2006 which Pete Tong went on to make the ‘Essential New Tune’ on his BBC Radio 1 show. Cedric followed this with a string of high profile remixes for the likes of Dubfire and more ‘Essential New Tunes’ – namely in the form of 2009’s ‘Mauri’s Dream’ and most recently his smash hit ‘Molly’, of which even Madonna is a fan.

Finally he had truly arrived and there was no stopping him and the whole world has surely now seen what he is capable of. With his killer releases and massive collaborations he has created a defining name for himself in the dance music industry globally.

Coming to his tour of India, the tour was slated to take place in Mumbai and New Delhi. The gig in Mumbai took place at Royalty, which is a major hub for dance music gigs in the city.
