And come today, they have finally unveiled the first wave of artists lined up for this year’s festivities. Led by headlining performances from the likes of Maribou State (Live) who will be accompanied by their live band, iconic American producer/DJ The Black Madonna and one of electronic music’s fastest rising stars, Ross From Friends who will also be bringing his live show to Magnetic Fields, the phase one lineup also boasts of names such as Tunisian producer/DJ Deena Abdelwahed, electro heavyweight Hunee, and UK’s very own Palms Trax who will be making his return to the festival after his debut outing back in 2015. Curated commissions will also make their presence felt at the festival with Magnetic Fields presents ‘Fieldlines‘, an immersive residency program, set to bring together international/Indian sound artists alongside traditional folk musicians from the region and make a live presentation at the festival. Moreover, with the likes of Almaty-based DJ and promoter Nazira, the king of Gqom, DJ Lag, Paris-based producer/DJ Simo Cell, Australian DJ and one of today’s finest selectors HAAi, San Francisco-based sound architect and synthesist, OSE, and highly acclaimed DJ Shama Anwar rounding up the list, attendees at Magnetic Fields will also be able to treat themselves to the sounds of Africa when creative polymath and South African selector Esa takes over the dungeon for his all night set focused around the theme of ‘Amandla: Music to the People‘. The homegrown roster for this year’s action includes acts like The F16s, Okedo, Pulpy Shilpy, Monophonik, Chhabb, and Abhi Meer who will be presenting his special show, ‘Spektra‘. The theme for the 2019 edition of Magnetic Fields is ‘the law of seven’, and how it can be observed everywhere in the natural world and in everything we do internally and externally.
