As India’s electronic music community continues to strengthen its position within the global landscape, Mumbai-based agency Mixtape and French label Nowadays Records have announced an exciting new collaboration in the form of their upcoming compilation, ‘Around The World – India‘. An 11-track effort curated by the two outfits and comprising of some of the freshest sounds on offer from 13 homegrown acts, the forthcoming body of work will consist of contributions by the likes of includes the likes of Disco Puppet, Aerate Sound, Paraphoniks, Kumail, three oscillators, Daulat, HASHBACK HASHISH, Lifafa, MALFNKTION, Madboy, Burudu, Skyflwr, and Fuzzy Logic.
Speaking about the collaboration with Mixtape, Ugo De Angelis says, “We have so much in common with Mixtape especially in terms of a shared vision about the new electronic scene. Our idea for “Around The World” compilations is to have a look on the new “scenes” that need more attention and Mixtape is the perfect connection for us.” Mixtape and Nowadays Records aim to bring worldwide attention on Indian electronic music and artists while also offering the French electronic music community an opportunity to discover fresh sounds. “For majority of people here, India is just Bollywood music. We want to share all this talent emerging from India with people in Europe and hope to break that stereotype,” says Ugo.
With the ‘Around The World – India‘ compilation slated for a May 17th release, we have also received its first single in the form of ‘Fake‘ by Mumbai-based producer Skyflwr which you can listen to below.
