HomeFeaturedBoxMagnetic Fields 2018 Announces Exciting Phase Two Lineup Featuring Joy Orbison, Denis Sulta, Midland & Many More Rajrishi Murthi October 24, 2018 FeaturedBox India’s very own contemporary arts and music festival, Magnetic Fields is currently gearing up for their sixth edition later this December. After revealing a sensational phase one lineup for this year’s festivities which packed in the likes of BICEP, DJ EZ, Daphni, DJ Seinfield, Leon Vynehall amongst several others, the critically acclaimed festival has now revealed its second wave of acts. Led by some of today’s biggest acts in the electronic music world including Joy Orbison, Midland, Denis Sulta and Shanti Celeste, the proceedings at this year’s Magnetic Fields will also be graced by the presence of longtime NTS show host and popular London DJ, Debonair, one of 2018’s breakthrough DJs, Carista and Toronto’s very own Nino Brown, DJ and promoter of Canada’s premier inclusive dance party Yes Yes Y’all. Joining the festivities alongside Unnayanaa at the night stage will be two of Mumbai’s most exciting DJs, Spacejams and Kini Rao. Magnetic Fields will be hosting a series of special commissions and previews, alongside a bevy of talent from around the world on the BUDx South Stage. One such special showcase will be Natural Selection, a musical project commissioned exclusively for the festival, features classical pianist Sahil Vasudeva and electronic music producer Gaurav Malaker (BLOT). Another exclusive preview created for the festival will be renowned Mumbai-based producer Aqua Dominatrix’s upcoming EP, ‘The Flesh‘, which will get its first public outing at the festival as an audio-visual show with visual designer, Moebius. Also playing the stage will be Spanish experimental producer and designer, Cora Novoa and Delhi’s rapidly rising experimental act FOPCHU. Photo Credit: Rebecca Conway Moreover, the palace dungeon in Alsisar Mahal will play host to London-based DJ, presenter and Netil Radio show host Kristy Harper, Kiwi DJ and Dubai-based collective The 264 Cru founding member, Kev Fresh and a Boxout.fm showcase featuring radio show hosts DJs like Daisho, Suchi, Dreamstates and one of the UK scene’s hidden gems, Djrum. Photo Credit: Brenna Duncan With Magnetic Fields’ new favourite space Saavn Sundowners set to make a return in 2018, attendees will be able to catch some stellar performances from live electronica acts like Lifafa, Malfnktion(solo), Sid Vashi(solo), Bengaluru-based collective Consolidate’s very own Aniruddh Menon and Pardafash and Berlin-based multi-instrumentalist and video artist, Golden Disko Ship. One of the highlights of the festival weekend will be #PureLove with Kitty Su, a night that celebrates LGBTQ+ culture and inclusivity, with a special performance by London-based DJ and producer and ‘mix specialist, Midland.
