Ever since Swedish House Mafia‘s monumental reunion performance at Ultra Miami earlier this year, the dance music scene has been rooting for the legendary trio’s full scale return to action. And while we’ve already received bits of confirmation from the likes of Axwell and Steve Angello themselves, we have managed to witness even bigger developments in recent weeks.

With Amy Thomson stepping down as SHM’s manager earlier this month after 14 long years, she also confirmed reports that the Swedish trio had new music in the works as they had finally entered the studio. And now during a recent interview by Swedish new website Metro with Sebastian Ingrosso, the Refune bossman went on to confirm SHM’s return when asked about the super group’s reunion:

“I do not think it has been so short time. Me and Axel did our thing and Steve did its’ thing, and Axel and I felt we had done our thing for five years. We felt it was time, we missed it. And above all, we had fans who wanted us to reunite. Then we felt that, fan, we have to do it, they stand here and ask to see us again[…].”

Moreover, when asked about the future of Axwell /\ Ingrosso, he confirmed that they will be shelving the project for now: “No, we will not do that, we will actually put it on the shelf. As I usually say, there are three dots, it’s not two plus a dot. But we will definitely still do our individual stuff.” With all eyes on Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello as they gear up to kick off a new era of Swedish House Mafia, stay tuned for the latest updates.
