Earlier this year, one of modern dance music’s biggest names, Avicii passed away at the age of 28. As fans and the entire music industry around the globe continue to cope with the great loss and take steady steps to move forward, the legendary act was posthumously awarded earlier today for the Best Dance Song at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards for his song, ‘Lonely Together‘ with Rita Ora.

Released back in 2017 as part of his widely celebrated comeback EP, ‘AVĪCI’ which recently turned one year old, the track was up against the likes of Calvin Harris and Dua Lipa’s ‘One Kiss‘, ‘Everybody Hates Me‘ by The Chainsmokers, David Guetta and Sia’s ‘Flames‘, Marshmello and Khalid’s ‘Silence‘ and ‘Get Low‘ by Zedd and Liam Payne.
