RL Grime feat. Miguel & Julia Michaels – Light Me Up

RL Grime Light Me Up

Trap music’s reigning king and our Artist of the Month for July 2018, RL Grime is all set to release his sophomore album ‘NOVA‘ this Friday. And as fans around the globe gather around for what promises to be one of the biggest electronic music LPs of 2018, the LA-based producer has decided to drop one last single off his upcoming body of work. Titled ‘Light Me Up‘, his latest drop arrives on the heels of his recently released cut, ‘Pressure‘.

Featuring frequent collaborator Miguel and Julia Michaels, the summer-ready anthem was previously an unreleased demo by none other than Jack Ü before falling into RL’s lap. Talking about the song, the ‘Core‘ hitmaker also spoke to Zane Lowe on Beats 1:

“Wes (Diplo) played the demo for me maybe like a year ago. It was a pretty old demo that he played me, and I just loved the vibe of it and decided to build it out and have Miguel and Julia recut their vocals, so was in with them. It has a great summery vibe to it. I felt like this album needed something like that.”

A vibrant, future bass inspired effort which feels like one of his more radio-friendly releases, ‘Light Me Up‘ proves to be yet another impressive showcase of RL’s musical prowess. Out now via WeDidIt Records, listen to the track below.
