Avicii might have retired from touring back in 2016, but the late Swedish superstar’s love for music always managed to push him towards creating new music! And following the release of his highly awaited comeback EP Avīci (01) in 2017, he even hinted at releasing more EPs in the near future. But after the news of Avicii’s untimely demise broke out late last month, a recent interview with Variety with Geffen Records president Neil Jacobson saw him clear up the air surrounding the producer’s highly awaited body of work:

“I’m going to sit down and talk to the family once everybody has a chance to take a breath. I’ve never actually had this happen with an artist I’ve worked with before and this closely. So, I don’t know. We’ll try to get some advice from the family and everybody’s going to put their heads together and try and do what we think Tim would want us to do.”

And now according to Swedish magazine Aftonbladet, fans might be finally getting a new Avicii album. As reported by them, Tim’s family “met [with] record company representatives and partners and agree that an album will be released before the end of the year.” As we await an official update from Avicii’s label, watch this space for more.
