Yes, we’re talking about TIMEOUT 72, who took over the sands of Goa from 27-29th December to deliver a festival experience unlike anything fans in the country have ever witnessed. And while we know that every happening has its highs and lows, we at Bangin Beats have decided to list down our hits and misses from TIMEOUT 72!

1. Festival Production
Making sure to fulfill their promises, TIMEOUT 72 left everyone in awe after welcoming them to their festival grounds on December 27. A festival-sized production which graced the sands of Goa, the 3-day experience offered by TIMEOUT 72 secured its place as one of the grandest in the country, which featured three spectacular stages, and an otherworldly display of pyros, fireworks and so much more.

2. Headliners
Where do we even begin? Ever since TIMEOUT 72 announced the headliners for their inaugural edition, the hype surrounding the festival had begun to take over. And if you believe us, then the experience surely didn’t disappoint! With Jason Derulo, Wiz Khalifa and Martin Garrix shutting down the festivities across three days, music enthusiasts around India were treated to a spectacle which has certainly paved the way for the future of live events in the country.

3. Don’t Let Daddy Know’s Return To India
After Don’t Let Daddy Know’s India debut in 2016, the global phenomenon decided to return to the sub-continent as part of TIMEOUT 72. And boy did they go past everyone’s expectations! Taking over the Majoris Stage across three days, attendees were treated to DLDK’s spectacular lineup featuring Don Diablo, Third Party, NERVO and more, who put on a memorable show for fans to cherish for days to come.

4. Venue
Nothing comes close to enjoying a music festival on the sands of Goa! And after almost a two-year long hiatus since enthusiasts in the country were able to do so, TIMEOUT 72 announced its arrival in 2017, which ultimately saw them take over Vagator for three days to deliver an experience of a lifetime.

5. Abundance Of Homegrown Artists On The Festival Bill
TIMEOUT 72’s debut edition saw them check several right boxes, and the biggest of them all has to be the abundance of homegrown artists on their bill! With multiple international acts making their way to Goa for TIMEOUT 72, festival attendees were treated to surreal performances by some of India’s biggest dance and indie acts including Lost Stories, Zaeden, Papon, Lucky Ali, Divine, Raja Kumari, When Chai Met Toast, Prateek Kuhad amongst several others.

6. Absence Of Underground Music From The Festival
One of the most essential aspects of any gig or festival, is the artist lineup! And while TIMEOUT 72 came out all guns blazing for their debut edition with a star studded bill which boasted of the likes of Jason Derulo, Wiz Khalifa, Martin Garrix, Vini Vici, Papon and more spanning across three stages, the Goan-based festival definitely missed the presence of underground acts on their roster. With the underground scene in the country currently being at an all-time high, a stage dedicated to house and techno could have only added to the diverse lineup of the festival. Maybe, that is something we could see in the next edition of TIMEOUT 72.

When it comes to delivering a complete festival experience, TIMEOUT 72 has certainly managed to secure its position as one of the finest the country has ever witnessed till date! A three-day festival which promised to make attendees experience a lifetime in 72 hours, the adrenaline rush provided to them by the organizers definitely did the job, thanks to their star-studded lineup and so much more! With a successful debut edition in the bag, TIMEOUT 72 should now be looking forward to grow bigger and better.
