Mike Shinoda – Post Traumatic [EP]

It’s been nearly 7 months since Chester Bennington’s death, and while many fans dealt with the grief in their own way, the other surviving members of Linkin Park hosted a tribute concert in October to honor their late vocalist. However, Mike Shinoda recently released a new EP in memory of his fellow frontman, and best friend.

Titled ‘Post Traumatic‘, the EP is a 3 track effort and is as emotionally raw and cathartic as it can get. The record sees Shinoda rap about life after Bennington’s death, the decisions that await regarding the future of the band and much more. In a statement about the EP, Mike says,

At its core, grief is a personal, intimate experience. As such, this is not Linkin Park, nor is it Fort Minor – it’s just me. Art has always been the place I go when I need to sort through the complexity and confusion of the road ahead. I don’t know where this path goes, but I’m grateful I get to share it with you.

In a recent Q&A on Twitter, Mike also addressed the issue of the future of Linkin Park.
