What a month it has been for music! While November saw some stunning releases from the likes of Eric PrydzKygo, Anish Sood and Sickflip, December has been a wonderful month for music fans around the world! With the likes of Kayzo, Jeremy Olander, Ekali, Adam Beyer and more who put on a spectacular show, we were also treated to some real gems from multiple Indian artists including Arjun Vagale, Aimsir. and Chrms.

As the month comes to an end, join us as we take a look at the Top 10 Releases of December 2017.

 

10. Kayzo feat. Devin Oliver – Follow You

As bass music heavyweight Kayzo gears up to release his debut album, the LA native caught everyone by surprise with the release of its first single ‘Follow You‘ featuring Devin Oliver this December. A hard hitting cut which melds dubstep-influenced sounds and his signature brand of hard dance to be reckoned as a true dance floor weapon, Devin adds to the flair of Kayzo’s latest creation with his stunning vocals. A perfect mix of heavy sounds and its melodic counterparts, ‘Follow You‘ has effortlessly managed to get his fans even more excited for his upcoming LP!

 

9. Ekali x ZHU – BlameEkali ZHU Blame

Joining the NYE festivities, bass music star Ekali surprised his fans out of nowhere with the release of his incredible new collaboration with ZHU! Titled ‘Blame‘, the gorgeous jam sees the two acts work in tandem to dish out an absolute belter of a creation. Led by ZHU’s surreal vocals, the eclectic track is a melodic, yet equally powerful tune that is ought to work crowds at dance floors around the world.

 

8. Jeremy Olander – AraozJeremy Olander Araoz

Marking his debut on Anjunadeep, Jeremy Olander announced his arrival on the globally loved label with the release of a stunning 2-track EP this month! And finding a well deserved in our Top 10 is his surreal track ‘Araoz‘. A perfect showcase of Olander’s production dexterity, ‘Araoz’ builds around atmospheric synths, a deep bassline and simmering hi hats, all of which culminate into an ethereal dance floor groover.

 

7. Adam Beyer – We Dance Together

As 2017 comes to an end, the one and only Adam Beyer added to the festivities with a brand new track that he gave away for free. Titled ‘We Dance Together‘, the track was produced by Beyer a couple of years ago for a potential album that never happened, and has finally decided to release it. Gritty basslines, percussions, and vocal chops culminate into a foot tapping, groovy melody that is bound to get you moving. With all the makings of a dance floor burner, ‘We Dance Together’ is yet another gem fro Adam Beyer’s expansive arsenal.

 

6. aimsir – jatayu.Aimsir. Jatayu.

One of 2017’s brightest finds, Pune-based producer Aimsir. decided to bring his stellar year to a close with the release of his 4-track EP ‘abstract.us.‘. Having been steadily carving his own niche within the industry with his forward thinking and otherworldly take on electronic music, the brilliant EP cut ‘jatayu. provides us with an immersive experience which is defined by its heavy instrumentation. As the tempo notches even further up, the drum n’ bass inspired piece brings this memorable EP to life.

5. Flosstradamus & Dillon Francis – Tern It UpFlosstradamus Tern It Up

Flosstradamus and Dillon Francis decided to treat their fans to a proper Christmas present with the release of their debut Dillstradamus record, titled ‘Tern It Up‘! A track that has been tearing apart dance floors around the world, the bass heavy monster sees the heavyweight acts lay down an all out assault on listeners. A supreme joint effort that is fueled by both the acts’ energetic production work, the face melting track sounds like the perfect addition to their established catalogues.

Rising producer/DJ k?d has never failed to impress us with his futuristic creations! And for his final release of 2017, he has now taken on The Chainsmokers‘ ‘Young‘ to deliver a stellar remix. A highly popular cut from the famed duo’s debut album, k?d’s latest rework arrives as yet another showcase of brilliance from the young act. Melding his futuristic styles with the original’s nostalgic sound, the breakout act takes listeners on an emotional ride which manages to hit all the right notes throughout its proceedings.

What a year 2017 has turned out to be for Mumbai-based producer Chrms. And to finish things off on a high note, the young act ended up releasing one of his best remixes till date! Taking on Australian heavyweight Flume’s ‘Sleepless‘, the Mumbai-based act flexes his production skills to deliver a well-executed and highly impressive rework of the timeless original. Capturing the track’s signature flavour and successfully making it his own, Veer lets the iconic vocal samples make way for his fluttering intro before a futuristic and 808-heavy drop leaves us in the middle of a beautiful chaos.

 

2. Sequ3l – Dark Waters

One of India’s finest dance music talents, SEQU3L returned to production duties this month with his 2-track Dark Waters EP! A solid package of raw techno goodness, the rumbling titular cut finds a well deserved spot on #2 in our Top 10. A scintillating peak-time tune which is characterized by its dark and moody sounds, the track makes use of a sinister bassline, hypnotic synths and a punchy kickdrum to truly recognize itself as a ruthless dance floor weapon.

Our top Indian act of 2017, Arjun Vagale has dominated the last twelve months left, right and center! And to end the festivities on a high note, Arjun finally dropped his highly awaited EP, ‘Age of Lust‘ on Suara. Featuring 4 tracks, including a remix from Ramiro Lopez, the EP is an absolute dance floor burner. And bagging the #1 spot in our Top 10 is its title track, ‘Age of Lust’, which is a 6 minute long thumper, and also boasts of vocal samples from the 1990 hit ‘Age of Love’,
