Dillon Francis and moombahton go hand in hand! The LA-based producer broke onto the scene almost six years ago with his signature sound which involved the absurdly genius mashup of reggaeton and house music. After belting out hits and hits, the funniest man to have ever graced the dance music industry continues to find success with his unique productions, and even acting! A true believer of ‘IDGAFOS’ and undeniably, one of our favourite acts, say hello to our Artist Of The Month for October 2017, Dillon Francis.

The dance music industry has come a long way since the beginning of Dillon’s career, and so have his own productions that have shown more character while also being equally crazy in comparison to his earlier releases. For him, it all began with dropping remixes for the likes of DJ Fresh, Toddla T, Chase & Status, Calvin Harris and more before earning his big break with the eclectic Westside! EP in 2011. Boasting of cuts including the highly popular ‘Que Que’ with Mad Decent boss man Diplo, ‘Masta Blasta’ and ‘Brazzer’s Theme’ with Dave Nada, Dillon quickly followed it up with the crowd favourite single ‘I.D.G.A.F.O.S’ later that year.

As the young act continued to lead the charge with ongoing moombahton movement, 2012 saw him deliver some incredible remixes for Kill The Noise, Chuckie, Madeon, Steve Aoki amongst several others while also making his OWSLA debut with the 3-track ‘Something, Something, Awesome.’ EP. Having quickly made a name for himself, Dillon continued with the onslaught with a number of collaborations with artists including Doctor P, A-Trak, Example and Jack Beats. Soon after, he linked up with Calvin Harris for their crazy debut collaboration ‘Here 2 China’ alongside grime legend Dizzee Rascal while also dishing out his solo single ‘Bootleg Fireworks’ via Calvin’s Fly Eye imprint.

2013 allowed Dillon to experiment with his sound as listeners were treated to a bunch of interesting releases including his collaborations with Totally Extinct Enormous Dinosaurs for ‘Without You’, ‘Messages’ with Simon Lord, ‘I’m The One’ with Flux Pavilion and a bunch of other remixes for Justin Timberlake, Passion Pit and Oliver. As his stature within the industry continued to grow with each passing day, 2014 saw him lead the pack with a horde of humongous releases which consequently led up to the unveil of his debut album ‘Money Sucks, Friends Rule’. Not only did that year saw him unleash ‘Get Low’ with DJ Snake, but also reveal several other collaborations with the likes of Martin Garrix, Major Lazer and more, while dropping A-list remixes for the likes of deadmau5, Steve Angello, W&W and Daft Punk.

As he stepped foot in 2015, Dillon Francis kicked off the year with his festival smash ‘Clouds’ alongside KSHMR and Becky G. Progressing further into the year, he unleashed his moombahton-centric ‘This Mixtape Is Fire’ EP featuring collaborations with Skrillex, Kygo, Chromeo, Calvin Harris and more. 2016 boasted of some thunderous releases from the man himself as he joined forces with the likes of NGHTMRE, GTA and Snappy Jit and Will Heard for some memorable tracks while also crafting impressive remixes of Calvin Harris and Rihanna’s summer hit ‘This Is What You Came For’ and Galantis’ ‘No Money’.

Shifting our focus to 2017, the dance music superstar has been dominating the year with tons of live performances, as well as playing a number of festivals, including Coachella, EDC Las Vegas among many others. As his heavyweight single ‘Say Less’ with G-Eazy continues to garner thousands of plays, Dillon has also delivered standout remixes for Excision, Miley Cyrus and Duke Dumont in recent months.

A certified master of social media, Dillon Francis’ presence on the Internet is also worth taking note of! Having built a massive fan following courtesy his signature antics, his acting ability on Snapchat and the 2016 YouTube series ‘DJ World’ has led him to pursue an acting career. With a recent appearance on Viceland’s show ‘What Would Diplo Do?’, he is definitely a multi-faceted artist who has tons to offer to his fans. Moreover, with a “Spanish-language EDM album” which is currently in the works, we hope to receive more original, new music from Dillon Francis in the near future!
