Bangalore-based producer and RBMA Montreal graduate Oceantied has been making some big moves lately! After performing at the debut Boiler Room session in the Indian subcontinent late last year alongside the likes of Sandunes, _RHL and Actress, he has now released his latest EP. A two-track effort which arrives as a fitting follow-up to the 2016-released Tribes EP, his latest work steps away from the heavier and dance floor ready sounds which Ketan Bahirat has showcased in his recent works.
First up is ‘Paradise‘ which is led by female vocalist Alexandria. A chilling, yet equally haunting instrumental makes itself heard as it melds perfectly with the track’s emotive top line. As the proceedings steadily make way towards the chorus, the singer’s croons are backed by the instrumental which is stripped down for a brief moment before slow drum rolls take over accompanied by soft chimes and a fragile sub bass. ‘Closets‘ with Benkii is another top notch piece which draws a dreamy narrative courtesy a surreal vocal effort and an outstanding production work which sees the DASTA co-founder further explore different sonic territories.
