This Saudi Arabian Artist Got Arrested For Dabbing During A Festival Performance!

If you haven’t been living under a rock, then you’re ought to be aware of pop culture’s favourite dance move aka ‘dabbing‘! But while people around the world might be avid fans of it, authorities in Saudi Arabia aren’t its biggest supporters. And one major fact that I got to learn is that dabbing is a criminalized offence in the country because of its link to marijuana use.

Case in point being Saudi TV host, actor, and singer Abdallah Al Shahani who was arrested for dabbing during a concert in Taif, Saudi Arabia last weekend. Yes, you read that right. A video of him dabbing which quickly went viral across the Internet resulted in him being taken into custody by law enforcers. As reported by Dancing Astronaut, Abdallah since then has issued an apology on Twitter saying: “I apologize to our respected government and to my audience for unintentionally and spontaneously making the dance move at Taif festival. Please accept my apology”.
