After announcing her highly awaited sophomore album ‘Melodrama‘ back in March, Lorde has already previewed two singles off the upcoming record. As the date for the release approaches, the New Zealand singer has now premiered the third track from the album, titled ‘Perfect Places‘.
While the crisp and upbeat production of the track might seem to suggest it as another run of the mill pop track, the lyrical themes would beg to differ. Lorde writes about parties, drug usage and sex and the over romanticized notions that they hold in teenage years, with the verse “Cause all of the things we’re taking / Cause we are young and we’re ashamed / Send us to perfect places” driving home the point quite effortlessly.
‘Melodrama‘ is set for a release on 16th June, and till then you can stream the single here below.
