Earlier last year, a new documentary titled ‘What We Started‘ was announced which would put the electronic music industry into focus and how it has managed to break into the mainstream. With Carl Cox and Martin Garrix being chosen as the primary subjects of the genre, the Bert Marcus-directed project aims to find a conclusive reasoning behind its recent commercialization.
With additional features from the likes of Steve Angello, Tiesto, Afrojack, David Guetta, Usher, Ed Sheeran and more, ‘What We Started‘ also includes honest talk from legendary acts Paul Oakenfold, Seth Troxler, Richie Hawtin amongst others. What surely seems like a promising effort, the documentary was premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival yesterday.
