One of dance music’s biggest names, Avicii dropped a bomb on the world earlier last year when he announced his retirement from touring. And as the Swedish heavyweight continues to stay away from the stage, he has been particularly busy in the studio, in order to create ‘the best damn album‘ of his career! Having teased new music via Facebook Live more recently, it looks like Tim Bergling has dipped his hands in other projects as well.
With his highly awaited third studio album set to arrive later this year, it was confirmed by Billboard earlier yesterday, that Avicii has also collaborated with the veteran act Nile Rodgers on Chic‘s forthcoming LP. What is set to be the legendary disco band’s first album in 25 years, in a recent interview with The National, the living legend said:
“I don’t want the album to be just a tribute to Chic. I still continued to grow and kept writing new music. Thank God I met people like Avicii, Lady Gaga, Daft Punk and Pharrell and we all keep writing music. I also wrote the lyrics. You know, I don’t want to live in the past but it is a nice place to visit.”
