Linkin Park have cut a divisive figure ever since they released their first single in 3 years. ‘Heavy‘ which was the first single off their upcoming album ‘One More Light‘ saw the band move to a more pop oriented sound, featuring Kiiara as the guest vocalist. With the track evoking reactions from “love it” to “hate it”, everyone had their eyes on Linkin Park‘s next single. And if you were expecting something different from ‘Heavy‘, you’re in for disappointment.
Titled ‘Battle Symphony‘, the track follows the same soundscape as its predecessor, with a hip hop oriented percussion line, coupled with synth samples sitting in with Chester Bennington‘s evocative vocals. While the lyrical style still takes you back to some of the band’s older stuff, the musical style has gone for a total flip. For good or for worse? That’s for you to decide.
