Jack Ü x Spoon? While we definitely didn’t see that one coming, it looks like a possible collaboration does exist between the two supergroups! American rock band Spoon who released their ninth studio album ‘Hot Thoughts’ earlier this month shed light on a possible unreleased collaboration with Skrillex and Diplo during a recent interview with Rolling Stone.

As told by band mates Britt Daniel and Alex Fischel, the artists met at a mansion in Malibu, California. And as revealed by Daniel, Jack Ü’s intention at first was to beef up Spoon’s track “Can I Sit Next To You”. But instead they ended up jamming for about 20 minutes.

“He worked so fast,” Fischel says […]. “There was one point where the computer glitched out and he just yanked out the audio interface and just kept going on another machine. And all of a sudden, he just goes, ‘Bah! Bah!’ just sampling his voice into the laptop microphone and he made a melody with that. It was like he had Tourette’s or something.”

“I didn’t know what the fuck he was doing with that, ‘Bah!’” Daniel says, as they both laugh. “Then shortly after you’d hear it in the song.”

While no details pertaining to the track’s release has surfaced till date, its potential unveil still seems to be highly unlikely given Diplo’s recent comments about his collaboration with Skrillex due to label complications.

Stay tuned for further updates.
