The Chainsmokers & Coldplay Set New YouTube Record For Most Single-Day Lyric Video Views!

Coldplay Chainsmokers

The Chainsmokers dropped a bomb on the music industry last month as they dropped their highly anticipated collaboration with Coldplay out of nowhere. Titled “Something Just Like This“, the surprise release was followed up by a spectacular live performance at the BRIT Awards. And now with a week already gone by, their joint effort has already begun to set new records.

As reported by Billboard, their genre-defying collaboration has broken the record for the accumulating the most YouTube views in a single day by a lyric video. Having been streamed more than 9 million times within the span of a day, the track has now toppled “What Do You Mean” by Justin Bieber which was churned out 8.2 million times within a day of its release.

Currently sitting at over 40 million views, “Something Just Like This” is set to appear on The Chainsmokers’ debut album ‘Memories: Do Not Open‘ and Coldplay’s Kaleidoscope EP. Listen to the track below.
