Not long ago, Marshmello shared a photo on Instagram with the actress and singer-songwriter, Noah Cyrus, stating that he was working on something new with her. Fast forward to last week, the mysterious DJ/producer releases a makeover to Cyrus’ soulful song with Labrinth, “Make Me (Cry)“.
Pacing up the song, Marshmello starts with his playful plucks and soon layers them with sharp synths. A soft buildup leads to a run of the mill future bass drop with high pitched vocal chop melody. The vocals of Labrinth and Noah Cyrus are at the same pitch as the original, the exact element which is keeping the remix interesting enough. Hate to say it but maybe future bass is not so much future anymore.
