KADO Rounds Up 2016 In Dance Music!

Beta application KADO has been steadily growing in terms of popularity which compiles tracks for users and further provides recommendations based upon the users’ liking. And now, based upon their data which scrapes through over 200,00 DJ sets from the users and even set lists found online, they have compiled their own review. With several categories in place, “Year On The Decks 2016” has more than a few eye opening results on offer.

With results based upon 201,300 sets featuring 1,330,772 total tracks and  2,576,125 transitions, this year’s most original DJs based upon their originality score which was calculated on the basis of how frequently fresh tracks were played during their sets were  Hernan Cattaneo, Dave Clarke and Noisia. On the other hand, DJ Snake, Yellow Claw and Galantis were labelled as the most boring DJs owing to their highly repetitive sets.

Moreover, the data also showcased artists whose original tracks were played out for the most number of times during 2016. And without a doubt, The Chainsmokers, Major Lazer, Galantis, Calvin Harris and more made it to the top. In terms of the most played remixers of 2016, Claptone, Don Diablo, Purple Disco Machine, Tiësto, Skrillex and more secured top spots.

As 2016 proved to be a big year for singles, KADO’s results saw Drake‘s “One Dance” take the top spot for being the most played track followed by The Chainsmokers and Halsey‘s “Closer” and DJ Snake and Justin Bieber‘s “Let Me Love You“. With remixes doing bigger than ever before, Riva Starr’s edit of Groove Armada’s “Superstylin”, Seeb’s remix of Mike Posner’s “I Took A Pill In Ibiza” and Julian Juweil’s remix of Dubfire and Oliver Huntemann’s “Fuego” were announced  as the top remixes of 2016.

They also made a surprising find as they listed out the top transition of 2016 based on the number of times it was carried out by DJs, and consequently was awarded to the switch between Chocolate Puma’s “Listen To The Talk” and Firebeatz and Schella’s “Dat Disco Swindle”.

And lastly, one of the most important results which outlined the shift of trends in dance music, KADO charted out the most popular genres of 2016. With electro house and trance witnessing a sharp decline from 2015, genres like hip-hop, drum n bass and progressive house experienced a notable rise in popularity.
