10 Acts You Can’t Afford To Miss Out On At Sunburn Festival 2016

With just 4 days left for Sunburn to kickstart its 10th anniversary celebrations in Pune, the buzz for the festival has been electric. With a lineup featuring some of the biggest artists from around the world, an enormous camping area, state of the art production and many more, the 10th edition of Sunburn Festival is looking historic.

As we move closer and closer to the festival, we’ve listed down our 10 acts that you cannot afford to miss out at Sunburn this year.

1. Angerfist

Returning to India after having played in January earlier this year, Dutch Hardcore DJ/producer Angerfist is all set to bring his incredibly power packed set to Sunburn Festival. Having played at various festivals across the world, notably Sensation Black, Defqon 1, Mysteryland and many more, the ‘Knock Knock‘ producer will take the energy to an entirely different level once he takes to the stage.

 

2. Armin van Buuren

Armin van Buuren has been no stranger to India, having headlined Sunburn Goa back in 2009, and then later bringing his Armin Only: Intense and A State Of Trance Festival to the country, courtesy of Sunburn. The Dutch veteran returns to headline the festival yet again with an arsenal of new sounds, mind blowing visual production, and an everlasting zeal that has endeared the Trance legend to his Indian fans.

 

3. Axwell /\ Ingrosso

The Swedish duo made their Indian debut back in 2014, with a 2 city (Mumbai and Bengaluru) tour with Sunburn Festival, while Axwell has been a regular headliner at the festival, having played at the festival last in 2013. With a brand new show premiered at AMF earlier this year, the duo will leave no stone unturned with their headlining set at Sunburn.

4. Christian Smith

Yet another Swedish act on the billing, Christian Smith will appeal to those who are looking to discover the darker side of dance music. Known for his relentless brand of techno, Christian Smith will be dishing out some serious groove at Sunburn Festival this year.

5. Jai Wolf

With origins in the humble Bangaldesh, Sajeeb Saha has come a long way ever since his remix of Skrillex‘s ‘Ease My Mind‘ caught the attention of the OWSLA bossman, and got him signed onto the record label. The ‘Indian Summer‘ producer since then has gone on to play festivals such as Coachella, Bonnaroo and others, while also having remixed the likes of Odesza. Dirty South, Adventure Club among others. Jai Wolf makes his Indian debut with Sunburn Festival, headlining the District 808 stage.

6. Krewella (Live)

Krewella are returning to India after a gap of 2 years, having toured the country back in 2014, as well as headlining Sunburn Goa in the same year. The sister duo is bringing their live show for the first time to the country, complete with a drummer, guitarist and vocals, with insane levels of energy.

 

7. KSHMR

Making only his second appearance in India, KSHMR has not only produced the official Sunburn Anthem for 2016, but is also closing the festival on Day 4. With a sleuth of new music, featuring numerous unreleased IDs, the ‘Secrets’ producer has confirmed he’ll be debuting a brand new show at Sunburn Festival.

8. Parra For Cuva

German producer Nicolas Demuth aka Parra For Cuva‘s career took off in 2013 when a stunning cover of Chris Isaak‘s ‘Wicked Games‘ got him the much deserved attention. Following a couple of phenomenal remixes, Parra For Cuva has toured extensively around the world with his individual take on electronic music in an authentic live band outfit.

9. Pegboard Nerds

If you’ve followed the record label Monstercat, we’re pretty sure you must be aware of the Danish/Norwegian duo Pegboard Nerds. With a stage presence that is as energetic as it gets and an incredible set with stellar visual production, the duo are all set to make their India debut with Sunburn Festival, and will be headlining the Monstercat stage.

10. Yotto

Rising Finnish superstar Yotto has made a name for himself among the Deep house aficionados with his sublime melodies and dreamy sets. Having been a regular in the Anjunadeep roster, the ‘Slowly’ producer knows how to weave together a performance that’ll stay with you for a long time to come.
