Preview: Uner – Stardis [EP]

As Coyu’s Suara label now stands at the forefront techno worldwide, it just makes perfect sense for the return of one of the oldest artists on the label. After more than 6 years, Uner returns to the label with two rock-solid originals and two remixes from renowned artists all packed in one powerful EP. First on the “Stardis” EP, ‘Walking To The Stars‘ is a dub techno number with plenty of low frequencies and a wicked old-is-gold Detroit-ish arpeggio in the centre of the track. While at the second place, Dj Hell and his partner in crime Moralez have taken the original to another level with their own elements of dark groovy techno. One rendition, that’d clearly fit any underground warehouse set.

With ‘Disclaimer’, Uner creates an atmospheric and smeary piece of up-to-date deep house that starts off with a 4/4 broken beats, and indulges in diverse melodies and powerful layers further. While on remix duty for this one is Italian-born Francesca Lombardo who provides for a delicate, smooth and deeper minimal version without losing the original’s melodic spark. The strings as the track’s main element put a firm mark of Francesca’s own style. Certainly a great EP to look forward to this season, Uner’s “Stardis” lands on October 10th.
