TBB: You have been a true pioneer of electronic music, especially within the underground scene. How has the journey been so far?

Guy J: Exciting. Uplifting. I love what I do and it’s a challenge that has no end, every step is fun and brings something new with it.

TBB: You’ve always labelled your sound as soulful electronic music. Where do you draw inspiration from for your originals which take listeners on a profound journey?

Guy J: My inspiration comes mostly from my travels. I get to visit a lot of places and meet new people and experience new cultures, which is an eye opener itself. I go home where my studio is and try to bring my experience into music.

We have a small and very colorful world. Everywhere people react differently to music and everywhere people have different difficulties or ambitions and in nightlife or clubs you can see it all coming together.

TBB: Lost & Found has been doing extremely well throughout these past months. Can you tell us about the entire process that goes behind running a label that has always focused on putting out quality music?

Guy J: It’s a fun process and challenging at the same time, it’s not easy to find original music but when you find something, it feels the best.

It takes sometime a day after one listen that you know this track is special and sometimes it takes a while to understand that idea behind the track. It helps to get to know the producer in a lot of cases because you know where the music comes from.

TBB: How is it like being associated with John Digweed and his highly respected Bedrock label? What are your thoughts on him?

Guy J: John has been a key figure in my career. I grew up listening to his radio show and following Bedrock , and it has had a strong part in designing my sound. Getting to know him made me learn a lot also about how to treat everything that is happening around me in night life and music life. He is one of the most down to earth people I’ve met in my life and I’m thankful for that.

TBB: Any new artists on the block that you’ve been looking upto lately?

Guy J: Kevin Di Serna & Ditian just had beautiful release on the label called “Crystal Forest”. Khen is about to release first full artist album, Navar & Sahar Z teamed up for great release, and many good talents are joining soon.

TBB: What can the listeners expect from Guy J for the rest of 2016? Any elaborate plans in store?

Guy J: I have a release coming up on Sudbeat soon and also for my label Lost & Found I’m planning something. I always write new music so there is always something new to bring to the people who follow me.

TBB: Also, I think this question is being asked around a lot but what’s your opinion on the current of the dance music scene? As the whole “EDM” scene continues to blend into the mainstream, is it turn for the underground scene to come into spotlight?

Guy J: I think EDM didn’t do any harm. I don’t like it, since I think it is more “Pop” music that accidentally got categorized with House music genres. The good thing is that people that became tired of it or got older/softer are looking for something more mellow to hear when they go out or listen at home. Funny as it will sound, but even Techno sounds chilled next to EDM, so that’s a good thing.

TBB: You share a long-withstanding relationship with India. Having graced the sub-continent multiple times, what is it about the country which makes you keep coming back?

Guy J: I love coming to India. First of all cause it is a unique place, and I’ve made friends across India that I’m waiting to see. Second is that I believe the scene is growing really fast there towards underground house music and it’s special to be part of a process like that, and like every place I go it feels great when people are interested and doing all the effort to have you back.

TBB: While the hype for the Guy J b2b Guy Mantzur performance has been immensely real, what can the Indian audience possibly expect?

Guy J: Guy Mantzur and myself are hardworking producers, we write a lot of music , so people can expect original music, we are close friends and maybe people can feel the energy around it.
