Rarely do you see Indian bands getting remixed, but when they do, the end result has been quite impressive, and the same holds for the remix of Them Clones‘ iconic track ‘Zephyretta‘. The track, released back in 2009 as part of Them Clones‘ debut album ‘Love.Hate.Heroes‘, has been one of their most popular singles to date, eliciting a warm reception from the fans whenever its played live.
Fast forward to 7 years, and ‘Zephyretta‘ has now received a brilliant remix from Audio Pervert aka Samrat Bharadwaj of Bombay Blacks and Teddy Boy Kill. Stripping down the original to its bare elements, Audio Pervert gives the track a glitchy, downtempo rework, keeping intact Prithwish Dev‘s ethereal vocals. While the remix doesn’t match up with the ingenuity of the original track, it does have a certain flavor to it that will find a common ground with fans of the band, and those who appreciate electronic music in its varied forms.
