We’ve seen a number of orchestras covering electronic music hits over the years. With the covers ranging productions from Daft Punk to Eric Prydz, the orchestral covers have given the originals quite the interesting, layered flavors.
Finland’s Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra recent performance saw them cover a host of dance music classics, including Eric Prydz‘s ‘Opus‘, Darude’s ‘Sandstorm‘, Faithless‘ ‘Insomnia‘, Armin van Buuren‘s ‘Communication‘ and many others. The orchestra’s cover of ‘Opus‘ brought forward an intricately performed rendition, with a goosebump inducing arrangement that makes you truly appreciate the magic of the strings, the brass, the woodwind senction and the percussions coming together for a rich, warm sound.
