Pierce Fulton – Borrowed Lives [EP]

Pierce Fulton - Borrowed Lives [EP]

After healing from four broken ribs and a punctured lung in a rope swing accident, the talented Pierce Fulton is back to what he does the best, i.e.dishing out impeccable tunes with a twist of genres. After previewing the first single off his Borrowed Lives EP, the prodigy has now unleashed the 4-track EP.

Borrowed Lives EP ranges from alternative indie rock to dance pop. The tracks rather portray Fulton’s exploration of dance music than giving out progressive drops like ‘Kuaga’. Fulton goes on to say,

I’m not trying to push myself into a new territory or step far away from where I’ve been. I’m just trying to make music that I’m happy with that sounds fun.

The first single “Make Me Blue” gives a lively taste of saturated guitar melodies alongside natural sounding drums and percussions. For the next single, Fulton releases the title track “Borrowed Lives” featuring his buddy NVDES. It’s quite a happy and dynamic tune that tells the story about a man tired of his average life and realizes that he can’t change it. Which leads to him unleashing his fish from the bowl into the ocean. The track is made completely from the physical instruments, which is quite rare to be found in current electronic music scene.

I’ve realized more and more that usually the first take of anything is most likely the best,” he says. “When you overthink things, revise them a lot, sometimes it hurts you in the end.

With a stunning intro in the form of “Pantheon” , Pierce Fulton delivers delightful vocals, which he recorded in recovery and still nailed it. The track goes on to become a simplistic synth pop song with added synth pads. Layered Chorus on vocals are adding mesmerizing feels to the track and the break in the mid fits perfectly with the country(ish), filtered guitar chords!

With “Echo Lake” Fulton dives into the lower range of frequency and puts together distorted guitar chords which will take you up and down alongside his complementing vocals. Dynamic percussion is providing a perfect base to the awesome track!

To sum it up in Pierce Fulton‘s own words, “I have no idea how this EP is going to go, and it’s my favorite music I’ve ever made – ever. It’s exciting. It could totally destroy my career or it could go really well, and I’m excited for either or.”
