As bass music continues to evolve with each passing day, artists within the community are successfully providing the genre with a new direction as experimentation takes the front seat. Also with the audience being treated to new music by up and coming acts every single day, some have truly put their best foot forward to make their names heard. And if we were to talk about one such name who has been on the upswing within the bass music scene, NGHTMRE surely takes the crown.

Earlier based out of North Carolina, Tyler Marenyi aka NGHTMRE had a humble yet promising start to his career. Showcasing a range of sounds, the producer divulges into multiple genres which ranged from melodic future bass to electro and heavy trap bangers. Not just that, the powerhouse act has phenomenally blurred genre boundaries as he effortlessly lets rock and southern hip-hop sounds fuse into his trap inspired productions to ultimately showcase what modern bass music is actually about.

During his earlier days, he collaborated with fellow LA based duo Slander who have claimed responsibility of delivering some of the most brutal festival trap tunes known till date. While their gargantuan edit of Showtek’s ‘We Like To Party’ sparked a long lasting fire within the dance music industry, several other remixes for Tiesto, Afrojack, Porter Robinson, Skrillex and more flowed in the next few months to come.

Moreover on the other hand, Tyler’s friendship with Slander took their collaborative effort to greater levels as they unveiled their first new original ‘Ascension’ back in late 2014. Their chemistry was unerring and the pair worked prolifically, which ended up carving out an unusually overwhelming sound. As the rich pair-up brought an astonishing entity to reality, they were poised to craft a success story of their own.

As NGHTMRE’s knack for crafting surreal remixes continued to shine, the young talent officially hit stardom with his 2015 single ‘Street’ which ensued chaos at every festival all over the world. Debuted by Skrillex as an ID during his landmark Ultra headlining performance, the track officially sent trap arms flying within the bass music community. While the track consistently raked in co-signs from the likes of Jack Ü, Flosstradamus, RL Grime and more, the now LA based artist bagged his debut original release on Mad Decent and continued to dish out several top notch remixes that have already amassed millions of plays online.

May 2015 also witnessed the release of NGHTMRE and Slander’s collaborative ‘Nuclear Bonds’ EP which sent avid fans into a major frenzy. With an outrageous sound design grabbing all the spotlight, the LA-based artists had now officially become one of trap music’s biggest acts to watch out for.

As the breakout talent started to make some serious waves, he quickly earned fame for his high octane live performances with several festival appearances at Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Forest, TomorrowWorld, Lollapalooza and many more. Now one of dance music’s newest attractions, he extended his hot streak with an array of remixes for A-listers like Griz, Major Lazer, Keys N Krates and GTA. Furthermore, his collaborations with trap gods Flosstradamus and fellow upcoming acts Boombox Cartel managed to cement his position as one of industry’s most hyped rising stars.

The Mad Decent mainstay stepped into 2016 with a perfectly crafted debut self-titled EP on Diplo’s label which highlighted his level of maturity and checked all the right boxes. From raucous and rumbling bass heavy bangers to eclectic future bass productions, the talent seemed to know it all.

Yet to slow down, he followed his already critically acclaimed EP with a legendary remix of one of RL Grime’s recent tunes ‘Aurora’. A powerful rework which saw him flex his creative muscles even further, NGHTMRE has already landed one of 2016’s biggest tracks ‘Need You’ in collaboration with Dillon Francis. A massive festival ready moombahton infused trap monster, Tyler’s dedication towards his craft is inspirational to say the least.
