One of India’s leading artist agencies, UnMute has teamed up with PALM Expo to curate the massive PALM Soundscape showcase this year. Dubbed as Asia’s largest exhibition for pro-audio, sound and light technology and AV install, the 3-day extravaganza will bring together some of India’s finest music industry professionals under one roof for a number of key topic discussions.
Set to take place from May 26-28th, the featured topics will range from live event production based sound and lighting technology & the future, a panel discussion featuring leaders from EEMA who will come together and envision a music festival in 2026. Moreover, a special ‘One on One‘ discussion will take place between Nikhil Chinapa and Arjun Vagale who will chat about the core reason why the business exists and i.e. music.
Amongst other crucial discussions, Arjun Vagale, Aqua Dominatrix & Vinayak^a will spearhead the SynthFest w/ Sound.com where they will display their skills on synthesizers alongside a quick walk through.
Day Two will see a panel take on the record label business with inputs by the likes of Arjun Sankalia (Sony Music), Ashvin Mani Sharma (Calm Chor / Bit of Both / SoupHerb Records), Madhav Shorey (Kohra / Qilla Records), Sahil Makhija (Demonstealer Records) and Shatadru Sarkar (Times Music).
Next up will be a discussion which will focus on the raging topic of Media, Branded content or PR and how artists can get media coverage and the difference between press releases, features and and everything else which concerns the media element of the music industry. Another discussion with special focus on the event lighting and visual space will go down which will be addressed by the likes of Abhishek Roy Sanyal (Film Maker / Light Designer), Jash Reen (Wolves Visuals) and more.
Also, unarguably the hottest artist in the Indian dance music scene right now, Udyan Sagar aka Nucleya will be taking over the Music Production Lab to showcase his production techniques. And if you’re a budding producer, better not sleep on this one.
The third and final day of PALM Soundscape will throw the limelight at the gaming industry where professionals will assemble to discuss the opportunities for music in gaming opening up newer avenues for the Indian producers to indulge into. A DIY take on Studio Construction will also be addressed by a panel of established people who will give out tips on the technology and tricks to set up your own home studio. And lastly, the age old discussion: Quality v/s Quantity will take center stage once again where veterans like Arjun Vagale, Clinton Cerejo, Keshav Dhar and more will sit down for an insightful feature.
As we shift our focus from workshops and discussions, the 6th Annual PALM DJ Championship will be the battleground for aspiring DJs and has continued to be tipped as one of nation’s most coveted DJ battles. Set to be hosted by veteran professional REJI, watch out for this one.
