Yes you read that right! Pasquele Rotella has confirmed plans to bring Electric Daisy Carnival to India next year and we couldn’t be more excited. In a recent interview with CNBC, the Insomniac founder talked about his plans to grow internationally in which he mentioned that he indeed has plans to bring the flagship festival to the Indian sub-continent in 2017!
“We’re going to the UK, Japan, India…”
Yes, he said India. With an impending official statement soon to be heard, it surely looks to be a promising and the ultimate move given how India has grown over the years to place itself as a top destination for electronic music.
Rotella explained the many subgenres that come under the EDM umbrella while also explaining the growth of house and techno. In defence of festivals, he spoke from experience,
“We’re growing every day. Not just in the United States, but we’re growing internationally. Our 20 year anniversary is in 5 weeks in Vegas, and we’re already thinking about the next 10 years. What we’re going to be doing and how we’re going to use technology to enhance the experience – it’s an exciting time for festivals.”
While speaking about the genre is spoke about the importance of cross-collaboration to the growth of the genre specifically speaking about Black Eyed Peas and David Guetta, an example from a lifetime ago.
