Calvin Harris has finally revealed his highly anticipated follow-up single to last year’s ‘How Deep Is Your Love‘ and the audience is already loving already. In anticipation to the reveal, the Scottish DJ heavyweight talked to BBC Radio 1 about his latest single, upcoming work and more.
In conversation with their radio host, Calvin discussed how his latest track with Rihanna, ‘This Is What You Came For‘ had a cinematic flow involved.
“I try to fuse real feeling, emotion and texture – the sort of thing you feel in rock and pop – and making that in dance, because it felt like dance was a little bit 2D. The end effect is you have something that is more emotional, and sounds that conjure memories.”
The highest-earning DJ in the dance music industry also detailed out on how the collaboration was kept as a super secret affair and his secret tip to do it successfully: “You just don’t talk to anyone.” He also revealed the reaction of RiRi after he played it to the pop star in a trailer during the Coachella weekend this year.
"I played it to @rihanna for the first time in a trailer at Coachella. She was like, this is sick" – @CalvinHarris ⚡️ #ThisIsWhatYouCameFor
