SickFlip – Dark Ages [EP] [Free Download]

One of India’s rising bass music icons, SickFlip is finally back with his brand new Dark Ages EP. Sarvesh Shrivastava who has consistently been reckoned as one of India’s most experimental producers is known for his bass-heavy sounds, and likes to draw constant inspiration from everything around him. And rightfully so, his inspirations are imprinted onto his sounds in scintillating fashion.

Following the heels of his critically acclaimed The Ladakh Project EP, his latest effort brings about two wildly experimental tracks that explore western trap and hip-hop vibes meshed with Indian and middle-eastern sounds. First up is MadMax, a standout track from the EP, this raging tune thrives on deep, dark and heavy beats with a mind-bending percussion work. The second and concluding track is ‘Desert Bae‘, a very Indian/middle-eastern influenced bass tune that follows suit of his previous production and explores an exotic collection of sounds.

Talking about his EP, the man himself said:

“Dark Ages EP is a two track release wherein both the tracks are pretty different from each other, yet they share a prevalent mysterious dark vibe which cuts them from the same cloth. The first one – ‘MadMax’ I think, is a bit heavy and menacing whereas the second one – ‘Desert Bae’ is all about the mysterious Indian / Middle Eastern flavours and sounds glued together by a driving hip-hop swing”
