Adil Omar – Margalla King [EP]

Adil Omar - Margalla King EP

The Paki Rambo fame Pakistani rapper, songwriter and producer, Adil Omar has arrived with his Margalla King EP. Produced by Omar and fellow Pakistani electronic music producer Talal Qureshi, collectively known as Saturday Night Killing Machine, this three-track EP puts forward powerful lyrics backed with excellent hip-hop beats. The duo recently played at SXSW and had also joined Diplo last month at his debut show in Pakistan. It won’t be wrong to say that SNKM is making some waves with their refreshing music.

Adil Omar puts his struggle in years through words with the title track “Margalla KingThe music samples an old Pakistani track and features Arabic string and horn elements. The amazing ambient intro is soon accompanied by Omar’s rap and the hook hits it off with energetic hip-hop beats. The unconventional elements in Omar’s music are the very same things that set him apart from the crowd!

Sampling the Hindi parody version of the classic Spiderman theme song, “Spiderman” is the most known track from the EP as it has been around for a couple of months. The rap features a catchy beat which you can not resist moving your body on. The hook goes with the Spiderman sample and Omar’s rap goes with describing his version of Spiderman. A perfect track to bump in your car!

The closing track “Wedding Shells” features the legendary American rap artist Bun B. Starting with an anticipating atmosphere, the track hits off with an unclear sample on the loop (What do you think the sample says? Comment below!) The sliding bass notes give perfect vibes for the track, with Adil Omar rapping about his late alcoholic father in the following verse, who passed away when Adil was 10. The second verse follows with Bun B‘s turn, with both the rappers taking it to the next level with this track!
